New grower please help me save my plants if possible

Why wouldnt I have read the thread? I created it lol and have the most posts in it. Also I mentioned there are 2 grows involved in this thread. Pretty much the first 3 pages are from the first one. this 4th page is about asking for help with the plants I have now. They are growing fine just some yellow spots I am concerned about. I don't understand why a lot of you nitpick. If you don't want to or aren't skilled enough to help then don't but trying to attempt to make me feel bad is a bit silly. The pictures are from the first grow by the way . I haven't posted pictures of the new ones yet. Sorry for your misunderstanding

do you have access to rooted clones? that is something else you could try. I think the seedlings will do better if you set up a mh or hps lamp, 150 or 400 watt would do, or 250 even. It's like a 100 or 150$ investment that would give you a better chance- you have 125 watt cfl(s) going now but how far from the seedlings? a couple of them looked like they might be ok

you might want to go back nd reread the thread. 2 grows, is that the one where you streached them and they got knocked off the window sill or the one where you are drowning your plants??? not trying to be rude trying to be helpful but you need to realize that you don't need magic potions or to be spraying them all day they are over watered and stressed out just leave them alone. water them when they need it no nutes nospray lit the soil dry out a then water let the soil dry out then water. you got fungus gnats because you created the perfect environment for them to live in stop with all the bullshit let them dry out then water them. thats all there i to it.

Sadly no access to rooted clones. I have a 600 watt light waiting to be used but nothing to hang it from. The cfl's are about 5-7 inches above the plants. As far as I can tell the gnats are gone. Im hesitent to spray more to rid them since it isnt organic. I will water less then if thats the problem. The stretched ones were the ones that were knocked off the window seal. I water them a bit but its a spray bottle so its just a mist it isnt as if I take a cup of water and pour it over them. Plus with the fan blowing it tends to dry the soil faster. When I water I try to spray so it hits under the plant but doesn't disturb the soil. So can you answer why people transplant so much instead of just growing from the final container once the seed has germinated. My girlfriend thinks its because the roots wouldnt be strong enough to hold the plant up in a bigger container. I just dont care for the potential shock it goes through. I will post pictures of these current plants so you can see that they are growing pretty well except for some yellow spots and a bit of wilting in a few of them. I believe they will recover and I also believe it could be due to heat stress and not the bugs. It is a small desk fan but at night I close the door to the room so the light doesnt bother her when we sleep in our bedroom. Sorry tussel if I came of mean but I just don't appreciate anyone telling me I can't do something. I was just asking for advice but when someone says I can't do something I love to prove them wrong. Anyways, I will be around if you have comments or can answer the transplanting question. Thanks

ok so here it is. Your girlfriend is half right. A plants roots will grow out to the sides and down pooling up at the bottom so if you start in a 3" pot let the roots fill it up but not get root bound then you transplant up to a 6" pot and the roots grow out to fill that space then you transplant up to 8" pot and fill that up so on and so on. this gives you a nice big pot full of roots to support healthy growth and feed your plants most efficiantly. So if you start a seed in it's final pot you will have a few problems. the roots will grow out to the sides and down pooling up at the bottom leaving a bunch of unused soil in the middle. eventualy yea it may fill it but not after your plant suffers from overwatering and fungud gnats due to the fact that there is a bunch of wet unused soil with no roots to suck it dry. hope that helps. akso transplanting will not shock your plant unless you do something stupid like drop the roots and plant on the ground from standing hight or rip em up. just pop it out of the pot put it in the new pot fill in around it with soil thats it no stress nothing like that. As for watering the plant whhat you are doing with the spray bottle is not helping, this stuff is easier than your making it out to be. Chances are youarn't watering through the pot evenly you need to have runoff. water heavily but infrequently that is the key. dump a cup of water on there dump enough water on there so that it floods the top of the pot soaks through and runs out the bottom then leave it alone keep the fan on it and sit back and relax. in a small pot you may have to water it every day probably every other day after a week-10 days from seedling you should be able to transplant if your not in a huge pot then another 2 weeks after that and 2 weeks after that then you should be close to flowering depending on how big of a plant you want. don't freak out and make it harder than it is. Not seeing it the spots on the leaves might just be because it is a seedling getting used to its soil it should be fine

ok so it looks like your soil is unevenly wet by dumping water on until it floods and letting it drain through the roots will be able to grow out and find water be able to grow down to find water really thats what you want. you want theroots tofollow the water down into the pots as for the leaves they will grow out of that soil is just a lil hot for them they should be able to make it past that

you do have drainage holes in the bottom of those buckets right??? if those areyour final pots don't worry about the whole transplanting thing this time around

Alright thanks. No drainage holes yet. I need to make them. These are buckets that cat litter is sold in. About 5 gallon buckets I would estimate. They fit 23 lbs of cat litter in them. They are big buckets though so I need to figure out what to place them on so the carpet doesnt get wet and dirty. Maybe a tarp. I don't know what to make the holes with ot how big since its pretty thick plastic.

Yeah these are the plants final pot. I transplanted about 5 days ago. I had them sprouting in a 3 liter pot. and 1 of them was in a tiny individual pot the size of 1 egg space in a carton.

should have been done before you filled em with soil use a 3/8-1/2" drill bit put like 5-10 holes in the bottom of each... what are the size of the buckets and how many??? you should be able to go to a pet shop and get a 2x2 droppings tray for a rabbit cage and put em in that if they will fit and that will take care of the problem of what to put em on or if you have any more buckets just put something in the bottom to space your grow bucket from the bottom so it catches the water then just take it out and dump it.....

you should be able to fit 5 in a 2x2 tray then check this out http://www.ruralking.com/pan-dropping-plastic-rh242416hutch.html looks like they have a 30x30 and a 30x36 and 24x24 sure would catch some runoff water. carpet harbors mold and insects I would put a tarp down run it up the walls 6 inches and duct tape it then put a tray to catch the runoff water in and maybe something to suck up drain out or somehow remove the water after it drains out depending on how much runoff you end up with

might have to caulk the corners with clear silicone just to be sure it does not leak

What are the bulbs called that plug directly into the power strip? I've seen them in pictures. There is no ballast or lamp its just the light plugging directly into the power strip every other outlet?

the hood can be removed and its just a socket with a cord if thats how you saw it used

No the plug was on the part of the bulb that usually screws into the socket. The guy had a wooden plank taped to the power strip so the weight wouldnt tip it. There was no cord from the light at all. It was meant to plug directly in.

My plants were doing very well and thriving under the cfls. I switched to a 600 watt hps and now use big bloom and grow big. The soil ph changed and is to acidic. I didnt catch it until the plant let me know. The following are current pictures. I want to know if there is any way to save these? The white on the leaves is lime . Besides using the lime I have used a lot of water to flush out the nutrient buildup then I took the plants out to mix the soil and let it dry out a bit and then replanted. Any advice from anyone who can help or has experienced nutrient lockout from ph please comment. Thanks

Wait Yes those are it! Where do i get em I want to use to illuminate under the canopy this way I dont need to remove to much.
