New grower , some progress

Hello all I'm a New grower from northern Alberta and new to roll it up !!!! I haven't smoked in a few years and still cant due to my work senario so this is all just a love of creating something beautiful and trying to get through it all .

I had got several seeds given to me for free from a friend that has had them for awhile and just never used them .

I'm currently growing regularly afghani seeds just to get a feel for it all before I commit to fully growing the fem seeds and I'll be ordering lights and nutes off Amazon shortly so until them I'm just experimenting with whatever I can get my hands on locally . And I'm not overly concerned with if I get the one plant I'm growing currently fully grown as it could be a Male anyways

Any tips are welcome and I'll be including a couple pics of what I have on the go

You have a fan blowing heated air directly on the plant. Not good. Better moving air over it instead of on it. Do not overwater. Don’t develop nutrient anxiety and go nuts buying unnecessary crap. Net pucks suck. Plant your seed directly into the Dixie cup filled with seedling mix. Make sure you have a lot of drain holes in the cup. Your nutes need to be swapped out. Nitrogen mostly. Consider 3-part systems like Fox Farms or General Hydroponics instead.

Make use of your long summer daylight hours. Veg outside. They’ll be good sized when you bring them in to flower them.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions here, lots of smart people on RIU to help out. Good luck on the grow!

Still too cold for it outside just yet , -1 today and new snow on the ground . I'll change the fan around to blow air more over the container I dont think Ive been overwatering , I'll be growing the autos I have strictly outside come the long days .
Thanks for the input as well , any other tips ?
