new grower update on blue dream

These are my two feminized blue dream plants. They have both been topped. I allowed them to get six nodes then I topped above the 5th. I also removed the bottom set of single leaves and the set after of 3 bladed leaves. I have been watering with distilled water when the soil is dryed out usually 3 days. I'm using 4 150w equivalent cfl bulbs 5700k for vegging and 2700k for flowering. Temp and humidity has been steady around 35% and 80-85 degrees. I use ffof soil with 25% perlite, no added nutes cus the soil is hot. I have humbolt county's crystal burst 0-15-15 for flowering tho. I've noticed a few things one of which is that they look a lot different. One is lighter green with fatter leaves while the other is darker with thinner leaves. Is the same strain supposed to look so different. And any other advice? Also I've noticed the one with thinner leaves is growing the nodes out a lot faster after topping. When should I transplant these girls into my 2.5 gallon pots?

Why distilled water? If you're not adding a cal/mag supplement your plants will show signs of deficiencies. Tap water not available? I don't want to rain on your parade but that will not be enough light when you go into flowering. You have to get more light. I'll say it again you have to get more light If you want any kind of yield. Hate to see you ruin a good strain like that. I had 950 true CFL watts a few grow back and it's a daily chore adjusting lights and dealing with so many cords. I stuck it out though and did get good bud but next time a single 400 watt hps easily outperformed all those cfl's. I used a hairdryer to blow air through the cool tube. Get more light man. BTW what you're seeing is 2 different phenotypes of the same strain. They are different and have different potencies as well

I agree with both of the above posts 100%. Andbutalso: You might want to shoot for a little lower air temp for these while they are small, especially. I've been surprised how small plants can get heat stressed in conditions the bigger girls seem to love. A little cooler and a little more humid for the wee ones is good. 35% RH would be great for flowering, though.

OK, tap water speech again.
Check your city or municipal water data, it is probably available for free online. Chances are the quality is better than you expect. Test your pH and ppm if you want. If your tapwater is close to neutral pH then you probably don't need to worry about pH, either. Seriously. A tiny bit of chlorine in your water is not going to harm your plants, if it is 2-4ppm average with no huge spikes, according to the data, you don't need to let it stand out overnight. I pour it into my passive drip reservoir (in soil) straight from the tap and it keep algae growth down, and my plants are kicking ass.
Tap water may be your biggest ally, look into it. Ask questions, don't believe everything you read. There's a lot of witchdoctor bullshit out there about Cannabis, as I'm sure you've noticed.

Probs humidity, causes leaves to get wider, atleast 45% humidity for veg, i run 60% humidity in veg and try to aim for 50% in flower even 40 is fine for flower but not veg

I started with distilled also, almost immediately started having lockout problems. Whether it was from calmag deficiency or ph, or both... (ph was shockingly high, 7.4 I believe) but, I don't care really.

All I know is that it went away after using tap water. I'm on a well, so chlorine was never an issue to me, but don't count it out.

We all want the best for our ladies, but sometimes the best to you isn't that for them.

Well in my case what's best for me is best for my ladies which is reverse osmosis water, I have yet to run into any issues using RO water, I'm against using tap water for my ladies...I was actually reading about water quality in most USA cities and the study shows that most tap water in most cities there are traces of at least 5 different pharmaceuticals on average and in extreme cases 60 different pharmaceuticals was found in one city's tap water, with that in mind I just like to use RO water. But with that being said I would use tap water all day if I had to, I've seen amazing grows with people using water straight out of the tap not even letting it sit for 24 hours! BTW if you're using high-quality nutrients you should never have to worry about using calmag unless you're running coco from what I'm hearing.

That's recycled water that has pharmaceuticals in it. Many cities in the west run off natural aquifer wells. I don't think being against tap water makes sense unless you actually check the data on the water in your neighborhood. I'm not telling you, @Enigmatic Ways , I know you're happy with your setup, I just mean for others who haven't made a decision. Some city water is safer than most bottled water by far. RO is great, but I don't want the extra step and I personally don't need it. Check the data, all y'all noobs.

Odds are I can add two more bulbs if needed for flowing will 6 150w equivalent bulbs do fine? I have the box lined in mylar to keep as much light all around.

Also I found a data sheet on the tap water around here but don't really know what all I need to be looking at on it. but the pH is 8.0 isn't that a Lil high?
Calcium
Calcium carbonate
Magnesium
Chlorine
Whatever else interests you.

pH isn't that important until after you add nutrients. Silica will raise and kelp, fish, etc. will lower the pH.

If you're watering without nutrients then plan on adding your silica and pH down. You may actually need to add pH Up after you start adding a full regiment of nutrients.

Your growing from seed, they will grow out with differences(phenotypes) just like a sister and brother from the same parents. Is that HSO's blue dream? There are multiple blue dream lines from different breeders, if you did not know this then google away because they have major differences.
