Any reason? I've read QB can blow Cmh and HPs in 2018. My area is a 4x4. If Cmh will deliver better than a QB is terms of quality I go with it.

I think they’re probably on PAR (ba-dum KSH!) with each other, but I believe the QB is slightly more efficient, less of a fire hazard, and much less expensive. With the added bonus of not having to change bulbs that weaken over time.

Just because I know them a lot better then LEDs n know it would be a good starting point for someone. LEDs also would be good . 315cmh foot print are not as good for 4x4 , 3x3 will give the best results.
Because you have a 4x4 already, LEDs would probably be a better starting point.

CMHs are pretty good. I just wish they were more affordable. I like them both, really. CMH has good IR and UV spectrum for finishing nicely.

With the advancement in LEDs n diy the costs are looking better every day for LEDs
tho, Im thinking after Xmas I’ll build a light for 1/2 my veg n side by side with a cmh

I use a Timber 2VL in one closet and 2x 135w QB288 V2 in the other. I got my QBs from GrowersLights, but they are HLG setups. Would you like to see the results of the Timber? I am starting my first grow with my QBs and am pretty impressed.

With the 2 135w qb, are you only growing 1 plant? And if I got my lights off of alibaba would I be getting the same diodes/LED boards as I would with those more official websites? On a tight budget but quality is key for me.[/QUOTE]

I would stick to the ones I mentioned and stay away from Alibaba, that’s just me. With both light setups? I could probably grow 3-4 each, max, but I stick to 2 each. Way too much light for one plant, all that.
