i have planted seeds in soil and now after 4 weeks I have a few plants about 4" tall. I water them everyday keep the soil moist. They are looking strong and have a nice smell at this time. I wonder am I watering them to much? When do I trim the middle to cause them to spread out? How can I tell if they are male or female? At what time do they start to flower and form buds? I am growing them out side in pots and right now the temp is in the 60-70 during the day and down to 50 at night. Is it okay to leave them out? I just wanna use the natural light nothing artificial. I would welcome any advise from the well educated and knowledgeable growers. Thanks everyone in advance.

You should only water if the top couple of inches are dry. Basically if you think you are not watering them enough, you probably are doing it right :), If you have to ask if you are watering them too much you probably are.

yeah theres no need to water everyday. give the roots time to search for moisture, you can also get root rot from overwatering so i would tone it down to every 2-3 days. They should be fine outside by now because they are already hardened and used to the weather. Buds should start forming in late august-early september.

You need to go to newbies section and read up. then ask what you can't find out. not trying to bean asshole, I am a newer grower too. but based on the questions you know very little and there is lots to know.

and post some pics so we can see what yoy got going on.

good luck!
