Vandula,
You look good man, normal. Unfortunatly due to the fact you used Miracle grow soil (any miracle grow products, or synthetic ferts the same) you will not be able to flush those nutrients out when harvest time comes. I hate to break it to you but your bud might burn a little harsh. I hope not, but it usually happens. Besides that, the plants look fine.

*****WARNING: Science lesson*******

ACScorp,
I'm proud that you have showed some real knowledge!!! The only comment I have about transpiration is you have it backwards. In hot dry parts of the world plants DONT want to sweat, they want to retain any moisture possible. What causes transpiration in a plant is the stomata, if you look at your MJ plant (or any plant) under a small microscope (10x-100x) you will see little holes. These are the stomata. When plants respire (take in CO2 put out O2) the stomata is the port in which these gasses are passed through. Unfortunatly when the stomata is open water vapor escapes.

Generally speaking (VERY generally as there are differnet types of photosenthisis with different species of plants ie grasses us C4 photosynthesis, cactus use CAM photosynthesis) plants that evolved in dry locations have skinny leafs to minimize the surface area, thus minimizing the amount of transpiration. Tropical leafs have broader leafs since they are in generally more moist environments.

With that said I think it would be a reasonable hypothesis to state that Sativa originated in dryer climates, while indica came from moister climates (or visa-versa, I always get the strains confused). The leaf shape is a genetically defined phenotype that cannot be altered by the abiotic environment.

Anyway, I hope I cleared that up. Keep up your research! :peace:

Bagseed refers to seeds you got out of a bag of regular bud. You didn't buy a high quality strain, or get a quality seed from a known strain source (ie you bought the seed online, or your friend grew some AK-47 got a few seeds somehow, and your grew one)

does anyone here think that going below 12/12 in terms of having more dark for the 1st week of flowering is a way to induce flowering faster or allow the sex to be determined faster?

Thanks Bless, I've been ass backwards lately on allot of things :)

Interesting science lesson. You must be a botanist or something. I'm trying to gain as much knowledge as possible. Although I am just growing for personal use, I have found this to be a very enjoyable hobby and have gone a little grow crazy.

I'm trying a Bat Plant now, They are hell to germinate and keep alive. On the other hand, I should have some good tomatoes this year!

I'd like your input on a screwup I did. I have seemed to have corrected it but it did freak me out since it was my best plant!

Light green leaves on top

I'd like to hear your take on what I did wrong.

Thanks

i thought in flowering the leaves get smaller, yellow(mildly),and go down in number of leaves per fan until u only have one at the end of flowering...looks good to me stop drowning it tho

Nope but there good with a little basil when you get the munchies!

In regards to your 12/12 question, I saw somewhere (maybe here) where a grower implemented a very creative light schedule. It wasn't based on a 24 hour day. I'll try to find the link but basically they reset their timer each day so they would get more light/dark cycles in a week than you would with a standard 12/12. It only amounted to one or two every 10 day period but they claimed it made a difference in flowering growth.

Maybe someone will remember this and post the link. I'm just going from memory but it was like a 10/10 or 11/11 cycle. Sounded like a real hassle but if it works, it may be worth a try.

i dont mind 12/12, i just want to speed up the pre-flowering phase. ive let this plant sit in veg. stage for 2mon PLUS and ive not even been able to determine its sex yet bc pistils or pollen sacs have not formed.

Check out this thread. It is what I was talking about regarding the light cycles.

that's way to complicated for a 1st timer. i dont sell bud, just want to grow a little and smoke whatever sprouts.

When you you out of 12/12 it does become complicated. That's our life cycle.

Try it on tomatoes! LOL

Dude your plant looks perfectly healthy. I agree with UF that it is just growing so fast, and try not to water to much and keep it to every few days to a week even. It does look really good, and good luck. CFL wont burn your plants so keep it close and a lower color temp light like a warm white would be better for flowering.

sounds good thx fellas. 12/12 is not complicated ACS, just that thread you linked me to is.

it's always nice to be a comedian once in awhile.
