here is the plant as of a few days ago:

and here is the top cola of that plant at the same time:

what would cause fresh growth so late into flowering? and what do I do about it? the rest of the plant is looking about ready. its also looking practically dead. but theres a lot of new growth now thats immature.

those dont look close to being done to me. looks more like a stressed plant thats leaves are dying. they should be much more swollen than that and alot more amber colored.

Looks like heat stress and or light burnt, if your getin new growth there is probably still a source of N, is there any in your flowering nutes?

i always use nutes with low levels of nitrogen in flower, as the plant needs n still, just not as much, I dont think that is why he is seeing new growth. I think his plant has started to recover from whatever happened to it, at least to an extent, the new growth he's getting doesnt look all that great either.

I was feeding it with a general fertilizer that is high in nitrogen (10-15-10), but switched to an actual flowering nute 4-5 weeks ago. It's not heat or light stress, its a combination of spider mite stress and getting old. That plant is 10 weeks into flowering in the pic.

And that brings me back to my original question. The second pic is clearly not done, it's new green growth and new bud growth. That part of the bud didn't start growing until well into flowering though. The first pic is of the same plant on the same day though and you can see all the red hairs on it. The old growth that is 10 weeks into flowering looks almost done, like it should be harvested within the week. But that new growth is tripping me. I have a feeling that the health of the plant is so deteriorated, and i've lost so many leaves due to mites at this point, that the new growth will not fully mature and fill out (the plant will die before that happens).

So what causes this new growth like that? too much nitrogen? the plant recovering from spider mite stress? some other factor?

And what should I do about it? I think leaving the plant until the new growth matures will take way too long and I don't think ill get a good product out of it. Although i'm afraid the whole harvest will be shitty if I do it now. She seems to have taken all the energy she should have used to swell up and make nice buds and turned it into brand new bud growth instead.

If I knew I could get some good dope from her I would leave it, but at this point she is taking up space in my garden so I dont know if its worth it.

I picked a bud off her last night (a near mature looking one) and microwaved it and tried it. Besides tasting wet and nasty it wasnt very potent. Will she get more potent after drying/curing, or is this what im stuck with? She could make an awesome batch of brownies...

that isnt from spider mite damage bro, but anyway yeah, if youve got more plants and she is just taking up space and you want to chop soon that'll be fine i guess. The potency will increase after a proper dry and cure, cannaboids that dont really do much for us are converted into thc as they break down, so that also means their is a limit to how much more potent it would be once the cannaboids are all converted. she should work good for some brownies, sounds like a good idea to me.

The spider mites were doing some damage to all the plants. The plants start to have their leaves brown up like this toward the end of their life cycle. If it's not the mites or old age (this plant was a bit over 11 weeks into flower at time of picture) then what is causing it?

maybe a phosphorus def?
i tried to copy the pic but it wouldnt let me, but that looks sort of like a phosphorus def. the way its spreading and the leaves look, look at the phosphorus def. plant in this guide and it has alot of similarities. It looks similar to other phosphorus def. problems ive seen on here and on my own as well.http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=11688
