New growth shoots bending over and not growing

First of all I'm growing in a 5 gallon pot that has plenty of drainage holes at the bottom. I'm growing in soil (soil is miracle gro natures care organic potting soil). There is no perlite in the soil because of low funds at the time that I transplanted her.

I'm using two 20 watt 5000k CFL bulbs & one 23 watt 2700k CFL bulb (which is 2-4 inches above the plant) for the past few weeks due to my 400 watt MH with ballast lighting system giving out.

I have a humidifier running and a fan running on her 24/7. Lights are still on her 24 hours a day. RH is between 25-40%. Day temp are between 74°-76°F, night temp are between 69°-73°F.

I'm use tap water ph'ed between 6.3-6.5. Every other watering I use half strenghth fox farm grow big & half strenghth big blum. Soil ph stays around 6.3-6.5.

I usually water her using the lift method which is usually every 7days. She is 8 weeks old from sprouting.

This is my first grow. I'm no expert but I've done alot of research & know a little bit more then the basics about growing MJ. I topped her 3 weeks in veg.

Up until 4 weeks ago she was growing fine. Then all of a sudden the tops of the colas stopped growing, but all the secondary growth stayed growing slowly.

4 days ago I decided to do a little LST'ing to her. I tied down the two main colas to give all four colas equal lighting. As soon as I tied them down all the secondary growth started growing a little bit more but the tops of the colas are bent over and not growing still.

Any body have any ideas as to why they are bent over & not growing what so ever. Sorry for the long post, but I'm just trying to give you all the information about her.

From the pics it dont look to bad to me man but im sure ur gonna get a lot of bad feedback about the miracle grow soil...also i think 7 days is way to long for your soil to dry out...maybe try using less water ...thats just my opinion but im no pro at this...you will prob get a lot of bad feedback about the cfl lights to but i wouldn't worry to much about that i know how it is when the funds are limited But i would probably try to atleast add a few more bulbs

The soil should dry out before 7 days...are you sure you have good drainage and ventilation in there?I wouldnt get so excited your plants dont look bad,you have some nitrogen clawing going on though,id cut back nutrients

Id have to say negative...you do not know the basics...basic knowledge is knowing how to water in the specific conditions. You are showing signs of over watering, slowed growth is due to roots being drowned. Water enough to dry out in 2-3 days

Yeah you are right bro. I will water less my next watering because 7 days is to long for the soil to be drying out. Yeah the light situation sucks but I have some more cfl bulbs coming in within the next couple of days with some sockets and splitters and a bag of foxfarm ocean forest and a 10 gallon smartpot. Unless you recommend a better brand of soil?? The cfls will have to do for now until taxes come in then I'm hoping to get a 1000 watt MH/ HPS lighting system with a digital ballast. Do you know of a good site to find lighting systems??

Like I said bro I have a fan and a humidifier going 24/7 but I don't have a ventilation system so I'm sure the ventilation isn't too good. Yeah I cut back on the nutes. Do you have any idea as to why the new growth shoots are bent over on the tops of the colas though??

Well I never said I was an expert. You are right though I should know how to water her now that the soil is taking so long to dry out. How much would you recommend I water her with. Right now I'm only watering her with 3/4 of a gallon. I'm new to growing like I said it's my first grow. I've done alot of research but obviously didn't read a whole lot about watering properly. I've never had this problem with her before until I started using the miracle gro soil. I'm always looking to learn more and now I learned something new.

Also do you think the growth tips bending over could be due to over watering??

It looks like it may have stared to flower and now starting to reveg.

Could just be you don't have enough light for it.

Do I just add more bulbs and keep her under lights 24/7 if she did try to flower??

I would add more light because 3 CFLs isn't going to give you much out of a plant that size. If you add maybe 6 more you'd probably have adequate(not great) light to finish that one out. Do you not have your lights in a timer?

Well I have some more cfls, sockets, and splitters coming in. I was planning on using as many cfls as I can for now until my taxes come in than hoping to get a 1000 watt MH/HPS lighting system with a digital ballast. Do you think adding at least 12 more cfls would be enough to get a decent yield from her?? What kind of yield should I expect from 12 more cfls?? Also no I don't have the lights on a timer. I wasn't planning on using one until I put her in flower. She's always been under lights 24/7.

Looks like she may be trying to flower anyway an is now confused, hence your slow growth. 12 more cfls would definitely increase the yield on that one. As far as what you can expect, there are too many factors I would be aiming for a half o off of that under your current situation.
It looks pretty stressed though so I don't know what to say about it. It could recover and go crazy you never know.

Well I have a bag of foxfarm ocean forest coming in with a 10 gallon smartpot as well with the lights, so I was planning on repotting her in the better soil. Should I not repot her just yet and just put the other 12 cfls on her for now and see what that does?? I don't want her turning hermie on me from to much stress.

Ok a couple things,its good you backed off the nutrients.I think alot of this is due to the soil and lighting.You dont have what looks to be enough light to support all that foilage,the soil looks dark.In a dialed in system evaporation plays a big part in keeping your soil healthy. I dont think a 10 gallon pot is a good idea.Re potting in some good soil with perlite added is a good idea.

Smartpots are fine,I still wouldnt go to 10 you are having a hard enough time watering a 5 gallon.No one can really tell you exactly how much you should water really...I can tell you that for frequency you want to be watering about twice a week in soil.Your plant and your environment will dictate alot of that.Properly draining soil with perlite will help alot as well.You NEED proper ventilation/air exchange in there,that will help as well.As you can see there are alot of factors involved.

I would definitely let the soil get good and dry then use about half the water you been using then see how the soil feels in about 3 days and go from there...smart pots are ok thats what i use and it mite be a good pot for you...think its harder to overwater with them...i only use a 3 gallon but my plant only get about 24 inches tall

A ten gallon pot is way overkill for your lighting. I would just add the lights 5 gallons should be more than enough for that plants root system.

Ok thanks bro I appreciate the advice. I'll look into a ventilation system as well. Until then I guess I will open the window during the day since it's been pretty warm where I'm at.
