New growth tops dry and yellow

hey guys! I'm so glad I found this forum full of helpful passionate growers. Anyways, I am just starting to switch my plants over to flowering. I noticed the other day that the top of one of my branches on one plant it yellow and dried to a crisp. It looks as though the other new tops growing in are also yellowing at the tips and I a worried they may start drying out and get worse. I am aware that nutrient deficiency/ overdoses is hard to diagnose and there are a lot of things it could be but I was hoping maybe someone might know what it could be. I started from seed in a party cup (unfortunately) in miracle grow seedling mix. Once they rooted I switched from there to a 1 gallon container with about 20% perlite and 80% fox farm ocean forest. I saw some yellowing after putting Into the fox farm but let them go for about 2 weeks in there. Then I switched to 3 gallon containers with a mix of about 50/50 fox farm ocean forest and pro mix to try and dilute the fox farm. That was about 3 week ago now. I haven't added any nutrients yet. Lights too close/hot ??

Just the tops of the plants right? I am on my phone but it looks like light burn.

That's light burn you need to back away your lights immediately.

Gotcha, I have a 1000 watt high pressure sodium so I figured that could be the case. It's already about 21" away from plant tops. I just turned down the ballast to 750 watt and hoping that helps. Thank you all very much for the quick responses.
Would it be better to go ahead and trim off that top off or should I just let it go since I just switched to flowering?

Let it go as she is in stress right now. Once she gets over her stress, if they bounce back leave them, if not, trim them...

Very welcome.....Given time we all learn....

If it has dead parts trim it back to healthy leaf, it will be better to wait a couple days to see what dies. Any trimmed leaf won't grow. Some people trim leafs in flower but I trust my plants to handle leaf management. I never cut a leaf off unless it is diseased, has contact mold, or is dead. I use fans to control powdery mildew/mold as well as both humidifier/dehumdifier to control humidity at 55%. Also my main strain is OG Kush and if she gets one stress factor like light stress I have found it is better to wait until I see her reach for the lights again and better yet new growth before adding another stress such as removing unnaturally dead growth.

Looks like light stress too me. A 1000 watt light should kept at least 32-36 inches from the top of the plants.
