the set up;
1 x 250w red cfl + reflecter
1 x 125w blue cfl
1 x small fan
childs wardrobe lined in reflecta gro
h -138cm
w -56cm
d -51cm
48ltr pot
ok she was vegged for 8 under the 125 blue cfl and was only given 2 feeds of tomatoe food. shes been on 12/12 for 3 weeks now. she did have a growth sprut in week 2 which led her to burn her head on the bulb... ouch! but i think shes over it now any way heres a few pics, let me know what you think!!

I too have recently started to grow for myself indoors.
I am finishing up my second grow(about a week till harvest).
My plants react very differently to HID and CFL lighting and though i have found blue CFL to work really well with vegging,the red CFL is nowhere near as effective during flowering as HID.
How often are you watering and does that pot your using have drainage holes?

Thanks for poppin in billy, i give her 5ltr feed of just plain water every 3-4 days, she lets me know when shes thirsty,and yes i have drainage holes at the bottom, originally there wasnt enough for my liking untill i set about it with a drill! I then smashed up a few cups brought from the squid shop and put them at the bottom and covered with a layer of perlite then my soil ( recycled john innes #2 with perlite plus about 80 banana skins chopped and mixed in).

Sounds cool.
I thought your yellow tips may be a watering issue.

I am very interested to find out how this grow goes using your cfl.

The yelllow tips were from where she got a bit too close to the bulb.
