New led setup OPIONIONS WANTED!! Cxa3070 cob leds

Sheet metal will not be able to cool six cxas. Grab some alpine 11 plus cpu coolers and mount them to that.
I was worried about the. Sheet metal . but anyways the alpine 11 plus cpu coolers is something that caught my eye I looked at them and I'm interested but witch one Would you recommend ? One the right size for a cxa3070. And cheap

Artic 11 cpu heatsink s and fans are what Iuse And they cost, 8.99 on amazon, but for the. Same price you could use alarge heat sink from heatsink USA for about the same money, but with the cpu coolers you can adjust your light spread

Just under ten dollars each is about the best you can do

You need to do a little more reading before you start buying things. The "alpine 11 plus" is the cheap way to get an active heatsink. The thread about matching cobs and drivers will explain which cobs and drivers to match up. There are threads for dimming led drivers and for wiring pc fans on the active heatsinks you will need to read too. Not trying to be mean, these are things you will need to figure out if you want build a well engineered fixture you can be proud of.

No I understand I've been reading more than I ever have the past few months anywhere from light spectrum the different types of leds bin numbers to nutes composting cloning the list goes on there's a lot to it trying to get the right lights drivers cooling systems .I've grown several successful gardens but outside . so I'm not dumb to what it needs but this is a new ball game I'm a electritian so wiring isn't a problem just trying to get everything the way I need it . I don't want a hunk of junk that's barely doing what it's capable of . y'all been a lot of help that's why I needed opinions . I'm gonna stick with the cxa3070s I think they'll do me just fine I'm trying to find the right driver for it I'm thinking about the dimming option . and I need a cooling system . I was looking at the alpine 11 plus and I thought it would work fine ? What's your opinion

Yes alpine 11s will work fantastic, my cxa3070 drivers are fixed, not adjustable

I don't want a hunk of junk that's barely doing what it's capable of .
From a fellow electrician, driver + cob + heatsink = something that will grow plants. 2 of mine are mounted to a 1/4" x 6"x12" Aluminum plate with 2 passive heatsinks thermalconductive tape stuck to it scavanged from old PC's, 1 is superglued to P4 CPU Heatsink and bolted to above plate. I think the 4 Eye bolts I used to hang it cost more then everything else I used combined to mount mine. People are buying cheap copies from China and getting decent results. You are just buying better quality by buying Cree, that is where you can buy the junk.

I run 12v drivers, well technically not drivers, since they are adjustable voltage/current converters(ebay $15 from china), which I input [email protected] DC and currently output 35v at 1.15 A. I am working on a watercooled fixture so I can turn the amperage up and see what happens to the Cree's at max power to see what they can do. I currently run 3 Top bin AB CRI83 in a 2x2 tent softly driven, 40k LUX at canopy with basic meter.20160122_220841.jpg

I like the set up looks like you have a few extra light in there as well red and blues in the strip mixing the spectrum. I have a mediocre set up right now with one led flood bulb in the cool range seems to be working far past my expectations . but for my new build I've pretty well made my mind up on the cpu coolers I'm getting the alpine 11 plus . as far as lighta I'm sticking with the cxa3070s I'm gonna run AB bin or Z4. Not completely sure , and as far as a power supply I still haven't found one .the only one I know would work but has no dimming effect is the LPC-60-1400 mean well "driver " and for the fans I'm still looking I'll have 6

you will want to use these cob holders,,

and get yourself some thermal paste
I like your setup looks great i should have just a bit more light than you but this is awesome . that just helped me out a lot . that's it i. Think I got it finally . I'm excited I just need to save a bit more and I'll be ready . one more question usually how long does it take you to get to harvest? I know you can veg for a long time but like your last grow how long was that

3 months,, one month veg 2 months flower
if your planning on "more light" i hope you have a bigger grow area than mine, the PPFD's were maxed out in my box, ( that is a light measurment that growers use instead of lumens , also Par is useful)
my plants wierded out a few times because of the strenght of the PPFD's , my sour diesel just could not cope at a younger age and light burn was to much for it to handle, even with the light raised up 36 inches, but the other 3 strains did ok,,

Nice little nuggs and I do have a bit more room than you I'm in a closet 2 Ft wide 5 Ft long and a 8 Ft roof. I got around 8 sq Ft on the floor was gonna put Around 6-7 plants in there
