New member: first time closet grow

please keep in mind this is my first attempt at any growing. ive watched a neighbor tend to his own stealth grow in a dresser and now im lookin into it myself due to the fact that i live far from town and have came across alot of free time. i have been around forums, watched alot of videos and read alot on the topic however i am inexperienced and i think experience is the difference between what you've heard and what you know.

so let me tell you what i have going on.
I germinated and planted 12 seeds in a box i built. my light source is CFL the bulbs i was using say 13w and are 60w replacement giving off 880 lumens ea. I was using 3 i just went out today and bought a few things. so now I got 2 23w (100w replacement) giving off 1600 lumens ea. an that are set for higher for reasons ill explain in a bit. i have 3 of those smaller 13w pretty close to 2 in above the seedlings.

what i used for soil is proffessional jiffy-mix i have laying around the house. it contains about 48% peat moss an 1% lime (it doesnt give any other nute facts) im aware i need a better soil but the only other thing i have laying around is organic miracle gro and i heard that wasnt to good itself. when i was at the store i lookd for soil but they dont have any in yet due to the time of year i assume.

now back to the lighting i have two light things that have that dome reflector on them which is why i put them up higher. i cant take them off and i need the light outlet so im making due. while at the store today i picked up timers an a thermom/humidity meter. i got one timer runing the fan on 30 min increments since my lights are on 24 hrs for now. i do not have any nutes available except some m-gro spikes which i wont use. and some all purpose plant food pelets that are very small. they are 14-14-14 and im not sure if i can use these?

Im about 15 days in the plants aren't that big and i did run into a few issues for starts i have yellowish brown tips on the leaves. I hear this is most commonly caused of nutes? also another issue could of been over watering which i was doing. i have two thats leaves are growing nice an is sprouting up above the rest.

another issue i came across is that 3 of the plants were growing at a decent rate but faild to open up and than i noticed a yellowish area on the stem where it actually lookd pinched and indented ...very weak. eventually they couldnt hold and just fell over so i pulled them and planted new germs. one just did this this morning so now i got 3 empty pots.

if you think im doing something wrong plz let me know do u think this set up will work well? Id like to mention the seeds are nothing special just bag seed. if you have any advice in how to stop the problems ive come across do tell. Pictures will be posted here in a bit soon as a figure out how to get them off this phone.

are my lights enough?
a few questions i do have are how many time a day should i spray them?
can i use the all purpose nutes that are 14-14-14?
and how long till i know when to change the lights for flowering?

one answer is 4 weeks veg 8 weeks to flower but it varys due to the strain your growing
and i dont think you have enough light
2 1600 lumen for 12 seeds?

no i got those two 1600's in the light fixtures with the round reflectors around them and they are siting higher at the top of the box. i have an extension cord hanging in the middle with three plug in outlets each with a 880 bulb in them. these smaller bulbs are hanging a lil over 2 in. from the plants. so a total of 2640 close to the plants and total of 3200 a little over a foot above them. is this still not enough? the box is made of plywood on the inner walls the tops made of 2 in. styrofoam an the door is the same. it stays well insolated and theres a whole in the top for the fan however i dont have a fan to blow out yet so i leave the door open occasionally. the temp is 84 F right now a notice the plants are enjoying more light since a installed them about 4 hours ago they are opening right up. i also have foil on 2 walls over the plywood to reflect the light the top and door are blue and one wall is just white from the closet wall i was going to foil this wall and should i foil the top and the door too?

total lumens in the construction is 5840 not just 3200 there are 9 plants actually growing at the moment because of the issues. if this still isnt enough i think the best thing i could do is get a short floro tube light and mount it on a wall. other wise ill have a bitch of a time puting more cfls i couldnt find any Y typ of light input like ive seen in alot of pics so they are single socket adapters that plug into outlet and bulb screws into the socket. i know all wont be females so it wont be total of 12 plants once i discard males or id need bigger space.

im trying to give enough information so you can get the picture. i cant upload pictures via usb for some reason so i gotta wait to use another phone to bluetooth.

so ive put another box under the tray holding the plants. this morning temps where around 73 with the humidity around 30% they both went down soon as i opened it about 30 min to vent but not by much. im doing my hardest not to water them cause they look so thirsty! but im gonna wait till tomorrow to water soil and just spray around them few times a day. i also started geminating 3 more seeds trying the bag over the pot method rather than the paper towel method im used to. just trying it out.. but i got two seedlings about 2 in. tall and others are very delayed.

things seem to be going alright the two that are larger are drooping its top leaves i dont know what this is about but im hoping they arent dying
