Hello, new on this board!
I'm pretty new to all this growing stuff. However I started up some White Widows, and later some Skunk #1's in my akvarium a couple of months back. Just trying to get the hang of it, learning to read the grow patterns & environment requirements etc.
I've had my up's n downs, in fact the first 10 days 8 plants died due to overfertilized grow medium. I made the mistake of listening to a gardner, instead of asking advice from real bud grow veterans. Big mistake!
Anyways, It's time to step up and expand my grow room.
As for now my 2 surviving widows have been vegging for approx 2 months, and my 4 Skunk #1's for 1 month, under 2x 30w light bulbs.
A couple of weeks ago one of the ladies got too tall, and I had to elevate the roof. This worked out for a week, till it collapsed, resulting in a burned off top crop.
This is how beautiful my Widow looked 2 weeks ago
And now:
A shot of my much better of Widow (a little bit burned on a couple of leaves, nothing major though) and her friends in the background, two happy 3½ week old Skunk #1's
My first question is, what should I do about the burned off top, should i cut it off? I've heard that it's pretty common to do in order to get better light conditions for the lower branched buds anyways..?
2nd question; how many watt HPS would you suggest for a Grow tent this size:
2400 L X 1200 B X 2000 H mm
Would one 600w with a big Adjust-A-Wing Avenger reflector be sufficient? I'm not so hooked on the idea of having 2 HPS burning at the same time in 1 tent
My plan is to first do a couple of SCROGS, and get some huge yields, so I don't have to worry about buying expensive skunk from the street the next couple of years. After that I will start experiment with smaller grows with different strains so I can build up an archive of different tasty buds
I also plan to make hemp oil in the future, as I heard so much about it's health benefit's and I'm a bit of a health & nutrition freak IRL
Hope somebody can answer my questions, looking forward to learn and share experiences on this board!
