Wanted to give another update on what I got going on.
Ended up making an area that is 8' x 12'. However I will only be using a smaller area within this area.
This photo is of part of the ceiling. There are a few holes I have to patch because I stapled it in the wrong area. But duct tape and mylar tape work well for this.
This is of the one side wall where the electrical in the far back corner will be installed. There is already a junction box there. Just need to tap into it.
The circuit that this box is on controls all the ceiling lights in the house on the second floor. I have 23 watt cfls in most of the fixtures so I took that into account before deciding to tap into this circuit. Also there is a 250watt MH mounted outside that this circuit is on a as well.
80% of the circuit would be 13 amps. With all the lights if on at the same time would run around 4 amps total. So I have 9 amps to play with here. 600 watt HPS runs what 5 amps. Leaving me with 4 amps to play with for venting and air/w3ater pumps. There is also another circuit up there that can be used if I do exceed the 13 amps.
I have been testing the circuits with a 1500 watt space heater. So far so good. and that is with the other lights in the house on. All cords stay cool to the touch so wiring should be a problem. And no breakers have tripped. I will be installing an emergency switch though before the outlet that will be installed. So if there is a problem while im up there I can cut the power when needed without having to run to the basement.
This is a picture of the inside front corner. where the 2 faces overlap. Still have to cover all the duct tape with the mylar tape but so far so good. Made sure I got the waterproof tape that shouldn't be affected by humidity.
This is the side wall that the front connects to. Tightened the poly with a 2 x 4 and screw it to the floor. should have used emm all the way around to tighten all the walls.
This is the front of the area where the door will be installed. Will be a velcrow door for easy in and easy out. excuse me zipper door with a velcrow overlap to keep the light in.
These are just random pictures of the walls and ceilings.
Pictures of the ceiling. Still have to cover all the duct tape with he mylar tape.
These are pictures of the right and left walls. There are no supports. These are just hung from the ceiling to the floor. Stapled and taped. wall seem pretty sturdy and do not have much movement. Which turned out nicely.
Temps have since gone up up there. I was been testing the circuits with the space heater and also the area to see how the temps will hold.
currently it is about 25 degree outside and almost 50 in this room right now. So I figure I will have to adjust accordingly after the light has been installed. As I will get some of the heat from the lighting system.
Also I still have to install my venting and such. As these are not shown in the pictures. Flanges will be mounted to support the weight rather then trying to rest the vents on the poly as I do not think that will work out so well.
ALSO for the floor. I have extended the floor almost 4' from where it originally was. So that way I can use the peak to hang the HID. as it will give me more head room if needed. almost 8 feet from peak to floor. the lowest part of the area is 5.3 inches. so head room is plentiful where it is needed.
As for containment. I am going to build a 5 x 5 box from 2 x 6's and line the box with pit liner. Which is hat they use to line ponds and such with so water should not be an issue if spilled or if a bucket leaks. I will post pics of this aswell once I get it built.
At the moment I cant think of anything else. I will post more pics as things progress and I get more finished. As I do have my beans and want to get started. few more weeks though. But I will get there.
Let me know what you think.
