hey guys, nice looking plants

im thinking about starting another grow with these genetics, do you guys have any experience of growing them in 1 gallon vs 3 gallon pots.
is there a difference in flowering time, production, etc etc.
So far, Dinafem's Power Kush is one of my favorite strains. VERY easy to grow and yields well (my last few were just over 4 zips each dried and cured). Super easy to clone and very nute-tolerant. Plus she'll fuck your world up!!! Actually, I'm smoking some as I'm typing this, and let me tell ya, it's some REALLY nice smoke after curing for a few weeks!!!!

I've grown them in both 1 and 3 gallon pots (FFOF soil and the entire FF nute line up under a 600 watt HPS) and I really can't tell a big difference, if any at all. My girls in the 3-gallon pots seem to tend to grow slightly taller, but there is no perceiveable difference in the yield. I prefer the 3-gallon pots though, purely because they are larger and more stable. DFPK tends to get quite bushy and top heavy once flowering sets in, and the larger base of the 3-gallon pots helps eliminate turn-over issues.

As far as flowering time goes, I was pleasantly surprised by DF Power Kush. It's the only strain I've grown so far that really, truly IS finished after 8 weeks of 12/12!!! (Some would say it's ready before that, but I like to let them get at least 30% amber trich's). Pot size has made no difference in flowering time, yield, etc in my experience. Oh, also -- I've found that the buds are done well before the pistils turn orange/brown. This is the only strain I've tried (maybe it's just my particular pheno???) where the trichomes turn amber before the pistils do. Just go by the trich's and it's all good - the pistils will turn once you harvest and it starts drying.

Hey there Mr.GreenJeans, thanks for that info! Gonna make it even harder to wait on my two PK girls now, lol - they are only a couple weeks into flower. I noticed the same thing with my Lemon Skunk, the trichs were done while most of the pistils were still pristine white.

Ya, that really tripped me out because I kept waiting for the pistils to darken, but the trich's just kept getting more and more amber, until I finally said F-This and harvested anyway. Once it dried a day or two everything looked normal anyway.

If you're already a few weeks into flowering you're in good shape. PK flowers very quickly and REALLY takes off, bud size wise, at about week 4 or 5 of 12/12. It's ready to chop at week 7 or 8 of 12/12 (any longer than that and you may very well end up with 60%+ amber trich's and some serious couch-lock!).

You're running FOUR 600's?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
I am SO jealous!!! I thought I was rockin' with 2 of them!!! bongsmilie

Yep, four of 'em, lol. I have noticed that my PK are taller than the rest of the strains I have in there with them, damn them anyway! lol If they keep it up they'll get tied down. Sounds like they may be the first to finish though eh?

Mine has also been the most vigorous plant in the room from the very beginning. She's FAST! Mines 4 weeks into flowering, and I'll be surprised if she makes it to 7 weeks. I expect her to have amber trichs by the end of week 6.

I absolutely LOVE the smell of this plant. She smells like fresh fruit.

Dinafem Powerkush

She's been raised on some homemade compost. I started by composting Llama manure into FoxFarm Ocean Forest... I let them compost by themselves for a couple of weeks, then added some perlite, some extra Jiffy soil, some Blood/Bonemeal, Sphagnum Peat Moss, wood ash, and some bat guano. I let it all compost for about 6 more weeks.

I've been feeding her FF nutes since flipping the photoperiod to 12/12. In other words, I didn't use Grow Big. I let my plants have a very natural vegetative growth.:leaf: Since flowering has startde, I've given her Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom mixed in with her organic shittea. I start her on molasses this week, and start flushing next week.

I make my own Llama brew.(Llama organic tea...i.e. Shitwater) All my plants love their shittea.;)

lol...I did stop by, but had to go - I'm a dialup user, and it takes just one of those huge pics about five minutes to load, nevermind a whole page full! Now if you ever change to thumbnails - holler at me, and I'll follow along with ya.
