So far, Dinafem's Power Kush is one of my favorite strains. VERY easy to grow and yields well (my last few were just over 4 zips each dried and cured). Super easy to clone and very nute-tolerant. Plus she'll fuck your world up!!! Actually, I'm smoking some as I'm typing this, and let me tell ya, it's some REALLY nice smoke after curing for a few weeks!!!!hey guys, nice looking plants
im thinking about starting another grow with these genetics, do you guys have any experience of growing them in 1 gallon vs 3 gallon pots.
is there a difference in flowering time, production, etc etc.
I've grown them in both 1 and 3 gallon pots (FFOF soil and the entire FF nute line up under a 600 watt HPS) and I really can't tell a big difference, if any at all. My girls in the 3-gallon pots seem to tend to grow slightly taller, but there is no perceiveable difference in the yield. I prefer the 3-gallon pots though, purely because they are larger and more stable. DFPK tends to get quite bushy and top heavy once flowering sets in, and the larger base of the 3-gallon pots helps eliminate turn-over issues.
As far as flowering time goes, I was pleasantly surprised by DF Power Kush. It's the only strain I've grown so far that really, truly IS finished after 8 weeks of 12/12!!! (Some would say it's ready before that, but I like to let them get at least 30% amber trich's). Pot size has made no difference in flowering time, yield, etc in my experience. Oh, also -- I've found that the buds are done well before the pistils turn orange/brown. This is the only strain I've tried (maybe it's just my particular pheno???) where the trichomes turn amber before the pistils do. Just go by the trich's and it's all good - the pistils will turn once you harvest and it starts drying.
