New Room for 2 Harvests - am I missing anything?

Sooooo.... I've been looking around for some places to set up shop to get more budz, and I finally found one... I got 2KW running right now in my PLC controlled stealth closet - and i found a place that i can use for 6 months that will be safe.... i expect to get at least 2 harvests from this, and get to keep all of the equipment.

this new room is 9' wide x 11' long with 8' sheetrock ceilings... (2800 cubic ft)

i have some of the equipment to put in there, some of it i will have to get if I decide to go through with this - i'm about 85% certain that I will...

I drew up a little sketch of the room - I'm planning on using a screen to even out the canopy... and putting 4x 1KW lights, with air cooled hoods for 6" ducts. I am going to have 2 streams of air going through this room - 1 to exhaust the heat from the light ballasts, and portable dual hose 1 ton AC unit, the other will be some fresh air coming in, and the central AC coming in and exhausted through the rather large carbon filter into either the attic or outside.

here's the equipment i will need to get:
4 1KW HPS systems with hoods - $1400
600cfm carbon filter for 8" ducts - $250
8" exhaust fan for carbon filter - $270
reservoirs and planters for ebb/flow system - $260
6" fan to exhaust light heat - $250
100Amp electrical sub panel - $100
2 water pumps - $120
grow medium (hydroton) - $200

for a total of: $2850

I already have the 1 ton AC, and all the hydro accessories (meters, fittings, genetics, nutrients, extra carbon)... I will probably control this setup with a PLC as well (possibly the same one). The room i estimate will use less than 60 Amps, if EVERYTHING is on at once.

the electricity is $0.03/KW hr fixed so it should be pretty reasonable to run... with my 2KW setup i get about 2 lbs per harvest, so with this one i expect to get at least double, because i will have 4KW, but possibly more because i have so much more real estate - the screen will be 3x larger than the one i currently use, so i am assuming 4 lbs is a conservative goal for each harvest if i put strong clones in.

so the question is this: is it worth all the risk and ass busting to set this up, run it twice then store the equipment to either expand on my setup, or to do another indoor guerrilla type grow... what'cha think?

sounds fucking sweet. is there a door from the entry way or are you going to construct one?

there is a "pocket door" in the entry way, but i didnt plan on putting any equp. in front of the door...

there is also another opening... on the north side of the room there is a window to the outside at ground level i will have to do something with... i was thinking about building a wooden box around it and putting a little light in it, and putting curtains in it so from the outside it would look like curtains, and occasionally the light would be on... i may ditch the light idea though, but i need some kind of box that will block the light from going out, and block any one from getting in - i'm not too worried about that though.

I did PLC'sin college. I'd love to get yer logic diagrams. If ya'll go legal? then the paranoia abates dramatically. if not then, can i get yer designs. you said you ran plc before. is the plc system for controlling a hydroponic system or is it possible to logic dirt grow? seems obvious, but ya never know.

will you be doing the hard wire subpanel directly to the service main or hire an electrician? 100$ fer a sub panel...sweet. 100 amps sound good ...how does it add up?

Cato Zen - i know someone who can help me with the sub-panel... the $100 is about what i estimate the cost of the panel, plus the wire i will need... the 100amps is what the sub panel should be able to run if it had to... i added the amps up like this:

4x 1KW lights = 40A
1ton portable AC = 12A
i estimated fans at 4A
and other electronic devices at 3A (water pumps and such)
which should total 59Amps at 120v if everything is on...

about the legal side... i'm in a Red state, probably the last one that will ever legalize this "devil weed" - but fuck'em

and for the PLC... the logic i use is pretty simple, its under 300 steps (not 300 lines), i have been messing with it and tweaking it every day, its hooked directly up to this computer so i can see it whenever. I use an Eaton Cutler-Hammer PLC controller, which i uses ladder logic, but in a proprietary program. I looked at other peoples PLC programs and they dont really look anything like mine...

Eaton makes some pretty affordable PLC's... much cheaper than some of the others, its all in the plc thread.

one thing thats bothering me is that i need 4 1K lights... but HTG has this deal where you can get 11 complete systems for double the prices of 4 lights... thats 3KW for free!

i'm gonna try to work on the ventilation this weekend so i can drop the shit in and go when i get it...

I like your control setup and am very interested in something similar. my ultimate goal is to build a new scrog box that is completely self contained and self monitoring. I just don't have the money now. I found a cool PC program called "HouseBot" that I haven't looked deeply at but I think it would serve my purpose.

less than ideal... this cant happen, so i thought of something else.

i'm gonna get some of those HomeBoxes... probably the XL and XXL... they are expensive, but they can make any room into a grow room pretty quickly....

the XXL is 4ft x 8ft - i will move the 2 1KW lights from my current room into there (since its about twice the square area) and set up a screen, then replace the 2KW from my smaller stealth garden with some 600w Lumatek digital ballasts.

I'm gonna pick up a couple of those dual arc bulbs to boot... turns the 1K ballast into a 600w HPS and 400w MH... pretty cool, but $160 a bulb.

this will make my guerrilla indoor growing easier

still shitty i cant do the 4KW grow... i think if i were to do that with 4kw now, i would have to go vertical... but thats too much setup
