Lol, how true, because I tried it, no, don't ask me why, I just did.2' away ?
FFS, you can lick a cfl & not feel any measurable heat & as all experienced growers know:
Less light = Less bud.
I don't make the rules.
You wouldn't happen to be some random hottie pot growin chick would you ?my box gets hot as hell...
Anytime you have lower shoots that are long enough. The farther away the more stretchy she is. Mine is nice and short and bushy... tight internodes to... thats hiw i want her. I dont want her tall and lanky. In other words i dont want an anorexic
plant.
Other than that i hope everyone is doing good!!! And feel free to share pictures of your ladies to everybody!!! I do have a question though.... when can i take clones.???
You can really take clones whenever. Most take right before flowering or during their stretch period. You just want to time it out so you can put the clones in soil after they start rooting after 7-14 days. They can last a little while in clone if in a dome and under decent light, but if not you want them clones under your veg lights asap. The farther away the more stretchy she is. I like to cut them around 6-8" long, trim off lower leaves & scrape off the "bark" exposing the cambium layer on the stem for the first 1 1/2" or so - dip them in rooting powder & I just put them in a rubbermaid tote (in red solo cups) with a piece of plexiglass over the top. Two CFL worklights shining down through the plexi & I'm done other than misting every day or so.when will i see my girl stretch?? she is staying nice and short right now..... and also i do have some cloning powder!!![]()
but no dome i will use soil in solo cups and use ziplock bags for my dome(as i used this method for popping my seeds through soil after germming them)
Normally they stretch the first 2-3 weeks of flowering, but some strains stretch more then others. I would suggest just taking clones from low branches that aren't going to get a lot of light or bud of them, and use those. Typically the lower branches clone better as well.when will i see my girl stretch?? she is staying nice and short right now..... and also i do have some cloning powder!!![]()

i got a heating pad im sure that could work just fine???I like to cut them around 6-8" long, trim off lower leaves & scrape off the cambrian layer on the stem for the first 1 1/2" or so - dip them in rooting powder & I just put them in a rubbermaid tote (in red solo cups) with a piece of plexiglass over the top. Oh, and I like to give the soil a good drench when I put them in the dirt & last thing, seedling mat. It keeps everything nice & warm - makes them happy.
ok. im thinking of tplanting sometime later this week into a 2 gallon bucket... so she can do some stretching before flowering. i did top her and i would like to take 2 clones from her before flowerNormally they stretch the first 2-3 weeks of flowering, but some strains stretch more then others. The solo cup and bag method will work just fine.
How long are your lowest branches ?ok. im thinking of tplanting sometime later this week into a 2 gallon bucket... so she can do some stretching before flowering. i did top her and i would like to take 2 clones from her before flowerthanks guys for the help i really appreciate it
Many of the newer heating pads have an auto-shutoff.i got a heating pad im sure that could work just fine???
