They are looking very frosty and good size.. could have I achieve better with hlg boards? Maybe maybe not.. but all I know is the girls loved the light .. so at this point dont really care either they are legit lm561c s6 or not.. i could have twice as much boards for the price of one hlg550 for example.. so this is really a no brainer for me.. I encourage people to buy HLG when they can afford but people should not be scared to buy those boards from alibaba as Im getting good result so far.. but I understand different vendors may use different diodes and there is probably even a risk of getting different diodes from the same vendor on separate orders.. but all in all so far im very satisfied

Random guess. All apart from C are samsung lm561. C looks like the cheap kind off alibaba.

Looks don't say much, how you testing them?

That's pretty much it. B is a lm561c S5 from digikey, and E is from my Alibaba board I just got. I'm pretty sure it has lm561Cs, but I can only guess the bin.

To me it more resembles the S5, but I don't know if the darkness of the dot is just random across production runs, or it could potentially be what causes the differences between bins.


I'm curious if anyone knows what the dot is called?

We know for sure the dot is much more apparent on lm561b and b+ thats a fact however for the phosphor color you cant rely on that as it doesnt mean anything really BIN are rated by luminosity not by color so they could be discrepency so yes looks like the board has lm561c now which bin.. I think I saw somewhere we could ruled out s4 as they were produced for a specific market if im not mistaken.. so either s5 or s6 but at this point ... the truth is 50% price for AT MOST 10-15% difference between s5 and s6.. for value it doesnt get much better than that imo :bigjoint:

Depends on the country you're in. If I were to buy a 260W kit from Meijiu on alibaba, I would have to pay $150 the kit + $10 PayPal comission + $55 delivery with DHL + 19% VAT + 5% import taxes + $28 DHL comission so they take care of import papers for me, total = $280

Meanwhile if I buy them from HLG from the US, I have a guy that delivers them to my door for $50 over the website price, so $300 + $50 = $350

Now if any of you fuckers can get them in the EU without paying VAT and import taxes, then yes, that would be a good deal.
