Ok , here is my plan,
Currently i grow in soil/coco , mainly for the reasons that i cant have pumps etc in my area i want to try this,

I want to run a "Passive" Hydroponic system , using 11L pots , 4 Pots/ 1 metre tray ,

Clones will be rooted in rockwool cubes under 2 x phillips 55w cfl sunmaster prop lamp,

After rooting they will be planted straight into 11L pots and vegged for 60 days under 400w mh,

The Medium i am trying is soil-less and consists of 75% Cellmax rockwool cubes and 25% Hydroleca Pebbles, i have decided to add the Hydrleca to combat the high water retention of the rockwool cubes,

I use Genral Hydroponics nutes , i have for years and am within my comfort zone with this product,

I want to know if anyone can forsee any major issues before i start , i Only need advice on these issues , i am not a novice grower by any means but lot's of brains are better than 1,

The main issues from doing this that are beneficial to me are,
Soil is very heavy and hard to get to and from my areas,
I have tried re-using soil with limited success, these products are totally re-useable,
Soil can bring the obvious health and bug issues,
i hate getting dirty :)

Any advice welcome, Clonex.....

Just wondering but why can't you have pumps? You can get 1 submersible pump to run 3 times a day for 15 - 30min a day to feed/water all your plants.. I'm guessing that your 4 plants per 1 L tray you are attempting a passive drip system am I correct? It can deffinetly be done I've seen people use passive drip systems.. I'd like to see you working on it or atleast a detailed description of what you did. Good luck man. And in case you're wondering I grow with soil but I've always been gaining knowledge on hydro. So I'm not experienced with it just have a few remaining brain cells stored until I take the exit ramp off soil.

thanks for reply man , was hoping for more than the idiot dope rappers responce lol ,
Firstly i am growing in my business property's loft , i have to be very covert, i can not boost or run any more power through the sockets already available , any extra noise is a 100% no no ,
By passive i mean just the pots sat in the res and their feed/water , to be changed every 48hrs (cleaned) , i have taken the idea from Ed Roseintial (soft secrets ), how would you set up passive drip feed ? i am interested in this ??

Its all about gravity pressure but then you would need a stopper to keep from dripping 24/7 and drowning your plants which in your case it might become a promlem. But basically in a nut shell you get a resivor of some kind, drill a hole in the buttom and use aquarium sealent to attatch a nozzle..with a stopper.. then send tubes to your drip dividers(forget what they are called but they allow 1 hose to drip feed more than I plant I'm brain dead right now) and set your resivore as high as you can so gravity does all the work. For drainage, just set a hole at the bottom of your tray like normal, and have another resivor to catch it.

You would need to manually switch the nozzle about 3 times a day for 15min or so each time which could be a problem in your case though.

I'm not sure why there was a link to an online newsletter?

Anyways, random rapping forum post?

Okay, I would suggest organic (manure) or soil. I've never grown hydro so that's why I'm not recommending it haha.

Make a stealth cab or buy one online and your golden.

The only drawback I see to this system is having your tray full of nute water exposed to the light, heating up, and picking up all the dead leaves, and other fall out. I've been using a passive hydro system for some time now just didn't know it was called passive hydro. I've called it soilponics. You may want to consider using hempy buckets, its passive hydro and very easy to do.

Cant be soiloponics , im losing the soil haha
Your point is very valid i guess but does the nute water added to soil also not get heated up by your lights in this case ? also i dont tend to leave dead leaves lying around im a pretty clean operator .....
i potted the first 20 mins ago , this is a tester only to judge clone reaction....
