Sup guys, I've come up with a new tent setup based off first hand suggestions, Amazon reviews and trolling threads for insights.. So this is what I have picked out, looking for any knowledge on the following brands and if there are any ways for me to cut back on costs

MILLIARD 30"x18"x36" grow tent - $69.99
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H2ULDR0

Apollo Horticulture MH HPS Grow Light Cool Tube Hood Reflector Set - $149.75
http://www.amazon.com/Apollo-Horticulture-GLK400CT24E-Digital-Dimmable/dp/B00547I5I8

Lasko White Clip Fan - $14.99
http://www.amazon.com/Lasko-2004W-2-Speed-6-Inch-White/dp/B00FXOFO7W

VenTech 4" Inline Duct Fan 190 CFM Carbon Filter Combo - $99.50
http://www.amazon.com/VenTech-IF4CF412-Inline-Virgin-Charcoal/dp/B004Q2ER5C

Fan Speed Controller - $19.78
http://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-ACSC-Fan-Speed-Controller/dp/B003URBQ1M

Total = $354.00

Add another $50-75 for odds and ends like bungees, ducting etc.. My original budget was $250, now I find myself spending close to $400. Given the above, are there any variations that can bring the total closer to $250? Like maybe other brands that are a little cheaper, or different lighting kits etc.. Thanks in advance!

I can only speak on the apollo ballast and ventech fan....

apollo makes amazing ballasts and lights for the price...have an 12+ month old 400 and just bought another 600

ventech fan works fine

fan speed controller is a waste of cash will hurt the life of your fan and is made for different type( i wasted cash on the same one) was told to get a reducer that turns voltage down instead but i just dont use any reducer now and is fine with my carbon filter attached.

I was under the impression controllers increase life span of fans? Since it's a small tent, I don't want to risk sucking out all the humidity, I have a tower humidifier w/ humidistat I plan on running in the room to keep RH above 40% so my question is will 190CFM on full speed dry out my plants? I plan on running two autos with fan sucking through the carbon filter (filter on the inside).
