new to 400watt HPS, how to get it going safely?

okay so im buying a 400watt HPS light, and im wondering if i can just plug it in and run it? or do i need to get certain things first like circuit breakers, or things like that?

a 400 watt only uses about 4 AMPS (not much) just make sure theres no big items running on that same circuit ie; microwave,toaster,elec heater,etc.most homes have 15 AMP circuits ,when we got our house done they put all 20 AMP in .

Keep the bulb clean. Don't touch it with your fingers or let liquid touch it when it's on. Blowing bulbs sucks.

k well i have a fridge in the basement, and washing machine. other then that itll just be a fan/ 400watt HPS. not sure if everything is on one circuit or not. do houses usually seperate circuits per room? and if so would a fridge/washing machine/ 400watt HPS/ regular fan be fine to run in the basement?

IF YOU HAVNT BOUGHT. BUY A DIGITAL BALLAST .. THIS IS ABOUT TO BE 2011.. YOU BEST HAVE A DIGITAL BALLAST. So you can RUN A 400w MH/HPS light when you need. IF NOT KICK ROCKS! YES JUST POP IT ON. I WENT 600w MH FROM CLONE DAY 1 NOW I HAVE BEASTS.

Digital Ballast can run both MH/HPS lights. and arnt noisy. where you live? you can buy them from hydroponic shops in your city.. or order them. (no risk in ordering grow supplies online,*MYTH*. FEDs only want ppl ordering WHOLESALE like 1k-10k pounds of FERTS NUTES.) Just ORDER YOUR stuff online. no worries.

no credit cards, etc. no method of online payment. im just going to the dro store, but i can just plug in these lights and it will be safe? thats all i need to know.
