I have grown in soil twice and want to start a mother plant in a DWC/Bubble system.
I want to have one plant in a 5gal bucket with the air stone and pump.
What I need to know is...
1) Can I run just bubble the whole time, or do I need a water pump as well...
2) How long do I run the pump(s) for (If air pump only do I leave it on all the time???)
Help is appreciated, and rep for help.
Thanks!

All you need is air. Leave the air pump on for 24 hours. If you want, you can make it a recirculating dwc system by using the air pump and a drip emitter but is not necessary.

In dwc, you always need oxygenation. If you would turn the pump off even at night you can get root rot.

Thanks alot man.
I wasn't sure if I could just run off of the air pump, that makes it soooo much easier!

I've never grown indoor till now. 1st dwc started three and half weeks ago. 6 plants (Seperated later) 5.5" tall THICK. 10 gal bucket GH nutes (300 ppm week 1 and 2. 420 ppm right now). Two 6" airstones each with indpt. pumps. Lights 4 t8 6500k kept 2" from top of plants. ALL THIS IS SO EASY! But stay on top of things and KEEP ALL LIGHT OUT OF RES! Some of mine have greenish roots and some brownish/beige. Noob move. Fixed. But all looks GREAT! Good luck man!
