new to growing and looking for lots of advice!!

Hey everyone thanks for taking the time to help ive got a few questions... i Just got all the seeds prepared and they are germinating as we speak...Once theyve sprouted im going to put them seperately in yogurt sized containers inder flourecent lights in the closet for two weeks then transplant into 3 gallon pots once they sprout...i was told to switch lighting to HPS which ive already purchased at 3 weeks...im wondering if this is the best route or to just start them off right with the HPS lighting system....and also should i only put ONE plant to each pot once they sprout or a couple in one because ive heard various ways to do it....im confused with the while male and female thing also when it comes to 2 or 1 plant in a pot cause someone said you need a male and a female in one pot? ANY and ALL help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated guys!:bigjoint:

Depending on the size of the yogurt containers you probably won't need to transplant at 3 weeks, you could probably wait longer than that.

Your florescent lights might be ok for the first month or so depending on what kind you got.

Hps right from the start is overkill imo, because you're wasting a lot of power.

You'll want separate pots for each plant.

Are you planning on making seeds? Or do you want the bud from females? If you want the bud you will be killing the males. And even if you do want seeds you don't want a male and female in the same pot, that's absurd advice, because there's no way of knowing what sex the plant will be.

1rst: You should always begin your plants in the same exact pots you plan to harvest them in that way no transplanting is needed! Transplant can cause your plants to stress for multiple reasons.

2nd: If you are going to use H.I.D. lights it is always best to begin your grow with the same lighting system that you plan to harvest with. Changing lights, like transplanting can cause your plants to stress. Alot of people have found that using cfl's for the veg cycle is very successfull and productive but if you begin your grow with H.I.D. then stick with H.I.D. throughout both cycles.

3rd: Always plant each seed in its very own pot so that further down the road it is easier to seperate the males from the females.

4th: The sex traits of a plant are as follows:
Little Pistils(white hairs) will shoot up from the top of the plants sunleaves these are females
Little Pollen Sacks(balls that look like tiny grapes) grow from the tops of the sunleaves these are males
Buds that show banana shaped pods throughout the buds are hermaphrodite plants
