Yes that's fine, most tents have draw strings on the vent hole to close it up or you could just tie it with string to make sure of no leaks of light or smell.

i like them all but your fan/filter is over priced. you dont need that one for a 4x4 you can get a $70 setup with a carbon filter.

where would i be able to buy one that cheap the cheapest ive found for a good 6in was like 150
