New to hydro

So I got 6 OG skywalker clones from house of clones in the valley. One of them died as you can see in the back. They have been growing a little slow but i'm thinking the roots just need to adapt to their new 6' grodan rockwool cubes. Since this is my first hydro grow I think I may have been feeding them to much the first couple of days I got my flood and drain system. First time dealing with clones, curious to when I should start to flower ? Will these begin to blow up during the flowering stage? Also i've noticed some yellowing (probably from nute burn)? Any suggestions 500 ppm's and ive had these clones for a couple of weeks just dont want to bump the ppms up and burn them more.

Rockwood is a pain in flood and drain so take it from me, your plants are over watered for sure ether switch to pots with hydroton or lower your flood level to where it only touches the bottom maybe 1/4" of the cubes and don't flood a whole lot. Rockwool is highly subject to over watering due to its ability to such water up quickly like a sponge. I would not recommend Rockwool cubes for a first time hydro grower. I used to line my flood trays with rapid rooter trays to break the water retention in the cubes and allow water to drain quickly.

oh poor little girls, get them less water asap.. get a ph meter.. your ph levels will be different for hydro, 500 is perfect for tds btw make sure you are using a good nutrient for your leaves, floragrow works great, make sure you are dechlorinating your water

Added a little netting to help train the plants when they get bigger. Are these clones typical size for flowering? Ive never grown from clone so curious to see how long you let yours veg before flipping them.

Depends how much room you have. They'll double or some even triple in lenght but never switch to flowering until you have problems fixed.

Lava works well for medium as well. The millions of air holes retain both oxygen for the roots as well as your fluids. It's easy to sterilize without coming apart and can be reused a lot.The stuff from the barbeque grills is fine. Wash it well (that should go without saying) and lay it in. It really holds the roots and plants up too unlike vermiculite which can also be used as can fish tank gravel. I have used them all. You get desperate in winter in Alaska.

Thanks for the help guys. They seem to be getting better. They're under a 1000 watt now. I flushed the plants out and seem to be doing better. I flowered them, hopefully its not too soon?
