cant you buy a bag of fox farm instead of making compost? Way easier than starting a worm farm or composting drum.

well thats the thing with organic, i used 2 buy plagron which is same sort of thing then at the end of grow throw it out and go buy another bag! now i throw it all in a big plastic bin in which i put all the bits of the plant i dont use plus the usual bone blood meal epsum salts and let it sit ther till i need it! iv saved myself a fortune !

WOW! I'm not even growing all organic yet but it seems having a composting bin/drum really is the way to go. Im also thinking about investing in a $5000 greenhouse for this spring and thats when Im going to start picking up the organic growing. Even in the cannabibles , jason king emphasizes the superiority of organicly grown pot.

I ve been debating it mostly at this point. I live in the sacramento valley and the average temps are usually in the high 90's up to the hundreds. I have these goddamed juviniles living directly behind me and I have been forwarned that some of the kids that are tere will hop the fence. So that is something to consider. And the heat... I gotta write it all downon paper thats all. I also want to grow vegitables with it.

I also forgot to add that the cops are always being called to the house, The kids that live there are on probation, The mother does ecstacy with her kids and thier friends, and theyre up all hours of the night. Now how am I supposed to have an outdoor tent/greenhouse with all that? All those 15 - 17 year olds staring into my yard. I know all this because the kid who i hire to manicure my weed knows whats up at that house and ive personally seen police cars and cops there wearing thier police gear that say PROBATION.

Anhedonia..... I've been growing pot for 30 years now. I got sucked into the hydro thing back in the 80's - and used to use mostly chem ferts. I grew pretty decent weed all along - no complaints from any who smoked it. It got you high, but had no real distinct flavors or character.
.
Ten years ago, I decided to grow only in soil, outdoors and all organic. Since doing so, I have never considered going back. My pot before was decent, since making the switch - it's Top Grade all the way. It yields as high as chem grown, but the smell, flavor and character - is like a fine wine.
.
My buds that hydro, like to sell theirs and smoke mine. They always ask what brand of fertilizer I'm using - GH, FF, EJ ? I them No, Natural - worm castings, rabbit manure, chicken manure, bat guanos, alfalfa & molasses. Most of which, I get for next to nothing.
.
They always say " Oh, that's too much work " I tell them like anything in life, you get out of it, what you put into it. To me, it's not work. I love giving the Compost Barrel a spin, feeding my worms, harvesting casting & making teas - Gardening is my Hobby. Work - no it's not work.
.
Once you get a few all Organic Grows under your belt. You'll wonder why you ever settled for all chem grows. Your plants will be healthier, less bothered by pests, the buds will be sweet & the yields so close to hydro grows - you'll laugh at them - mainly for spending two or three hundred dollars a year on ferts - when you spend maybe $ 25 for the whole year.
.
Organic Grown Buds - have no equal. That is a Fact. +rep to Jason King.

OK. But for starters I could use EJ and foxfarm soil, right? Making your own soil seems like it could be fun and rewarding. And I know a local nursery that sels guano, castings, manure, etc. Thats it. Im definately going organic ASAP.

Good post! Lots of the Medi pot in cali is organic and It beats out most anything I have ever smoked in Amsterdam! I love organic gardening once you get the hang of it it just becomes, simple and natural.

PS- Osho as in "The Book of Secrets"?

I'm starting an organic grow. https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/103621-organic-white-berry-sog-med.html#post1237152
the only thing that these seedlings have had has been water (ph6.4) and I sprinkled some benificial bacteria onto the roots when I transplanted yesterday. Tey grew in ff light warrior and now theyve been transplanted into ocean forrest. Now what? What should I buy? Earth Juice? Organic b-1, maby that new line of fertilizers humboldt utrients. Give me some ideas, tell me where to look. I feel like im over my head.

Anhedonia ... Earth Juice, Botanicare or BMO. All can be found at hydro shops, or online hydro shops, except the BMO. It's only on Ebay, search " Organic Fertilizers ". The Humbolt Stuff or Dutch Masters is just way overpriced. I have not heard anybody yet, say it's worth the extra money.
.
The soil you are growing in is Top Notch, so I would not feed until after they were 3 weeks old. That way your plant will spread out it's roots a little further looking for food and water. As a rule, I alway water the ouside rim of the pot, or out 6 inches from the main stem if in the ground - to encourage the roots to spread.
.
If you start feeding too earlier, Mary only throws out roots until she hits pay dirt, and will not develop as big of a rootball. The good bacteria/fungi you have added with help greatly. I'm a big fan of them, I use Super Plant Tonic, it's by BMO. There are other similar products out there, like Myco Magic, Plant Sucess, Sub-Culture - they just cost more. I'm Frugal.
.
Hope this helps...

OK. For now earth juice untill I get my composting drum this spring and know how to make my own soil. theres also a local nursery that Im sure wold help me get started. But an off topic question real quick- if the employee asks me what am I growing what do I say? What im doing is completely legal but they seem like the kind of people who if they knew you were growing a medicinal garden would be very reluctant to help you out with anything and would much rather you just leave thier store.
