new to outdoor growing!

Hello Folks! Im so new to Marijuana and so intrigued by it that I have started my own outdoor garden in preparation for my thesis experiment on the plant next growing season. Right now I'm just concerned about properly getting through the lifecycle of the strains I picked here from a local Sacramento dispensary shop. I also have a strain from the Philippines that grew on coastal mangroves. I don't know "how" it got here, but I have it and I thought it was quite a unique grow for some crossing if i succefully keep it alive. Note I did not postany pics of it yet on here. I wanna keep it as a Fall suprise.

Anyways any advice or suggestions please! Anyone here from Around or nearby Sacramento ? I want members from here to be the first ones to try "T.I.M" when its a success!

Looks like you got it right. Just keep doing what you are doing.
1: Use rain water if possible
2: Remember that plants will start flowering at 12 hours of darkness (complete darknes)
3: At some point you'll probably have to fertilize - use worm castings from your compost and plants will be very happy.

When flowering first you'll see shiny little trichomes (crystals). Right before plants are ready to harvest they'll be full of little shiny trichomes that "glitter" like diamonds. This is BEFORE ready. When plant is mature and potent the "glittering" will stop and you'll notice the trichomes just looking "milky" instead of shiny - ready. (you'll see what i mean when you get closer - just remember that you don't want to harvest "diamond glittering" trichomes.

Thank you for the help! I've just been reading reading and reading before I tried thus whole outdoor thing. At first I wanted to try and grow with other cal native plants to check negative or positive allelopathy but I realized I have too many different kinds of strains for that mini experiment so I put all my plants on pots or bucket to keep them isolated from other plants space and soil
I have yet to use any ferts. Im trying to determine which of the strains can thrive in my natural backyard soil and location weather which is quite funky right now.

I've heard of the use of worm farms and worm casings for growing marijuana. Quite popular now here here in Sacramento at least. I. A newb yhough so i still have to read on it and see its history of success.

Been reading Jason kings cannabibles books. Seems quite but there are some growing tidbits that is interesting to try like the SONICBOOM growing kit...anyone try that?

Sounds interesting your grow. My best advice: don't make this too complicated. It's just a plant - just like all the other in your garden. As long as it's healthy it will create potent buds i promise. One important thing: You need to be sure your seeds are from potent parents. Sometimes people grow bird-seed-cannabis which contains close to 0% THC and cannabinoids. Grow the best seeds you can get a hold on.

For now I got 4 white Russians, 3 northern lights x blueberry, a teen piece each of blue dream, ak47, blue cheese and "T.I.M" - the strain from one of the phillipine islands I've visited recently.

how does marijuana like cold water? Any good time to give it cold water or is it always supposed to be watered with normal temps?

I don't u understand hydro. So there is completely no soil involved with this setup?

Last question: where can i get "potent" strains of ruderalis clones or seeds? Im going to use it for something. :]

Your plants hate cold water. Make sure it's nice and warm. If you wouldn't swim in it comfortably your plant's won't like it.

Why do you specifically want "Ruderalis"? - anyway they have those at Sensi Seed's website.

There are a lot of great growers from SAC on this site. I'm interested in the strain from the PI how did you get it back here. Read a few grwos from people like Doublejj, Hodgegrown, medigrow530, wheezer, ABM all in your area. You will learn alot form there threads and I'm sure they will help you out. keepem green dirrtyd

blue cheese infested mites (pic1), pic 2 a healthy ak47

have red mites on my blue cheese plant. I suspected an infestation a week ago but dint get confirmation til today when I tracked a fat one off one of the diseased leaves. I isolated the plant. Im planning on rubbing it gently Down with a clean duster soaked In hydrogen peroxide to start with...would hydro perox be ok to the plant?

For now I'm concerned more with the survival of these plants versus quality of yield and such which I can worry about next year. Would would red mites kill the plants if left untreated?

ruderalis may not be a nice breed in itself, but I'm very interested its growing characteristics. I wonder if I could somehow cross this with "T.I.M" so can potentially change the way it grows - faster but not light related;.hardier;.bushier;without loosing its unique taste or No skunk that could be had if I crossed it with strong Indica. I just hope it doesn't affect its potency as much.

But all this is just theory. Im just curious what would turn out if i did crossbreed succesfully

Anyways, "T.I.M.".Got here somehow by putting the seeds on one of the imported coffee cans on the way back here. But I'm not about to say I'm entirely sure of this. all I can describe where it was found is an island south of the Philippines. The coast/mangrove forest In Davao city. South of the Philippines has never been very safe due to political and religious community instability so its really hard to conduct scientific surveys and such in the area. The strain itself is weird because come flowering time the plant itself starts to appear very glossy and oilly all over. This oil is still present even after proper curing and drying. The strain has never been commercialized. I took oil samples and had it analyzed for what kind of contents it has. Im just going to stop there for now since nothing in the study has been published yet nor there is any attempt to publish one for now. its a low yield sensitive plant especially interns of salinity & the characteristics that change when u change the levels of exposure.

Anyways, I'm going to cross this strain in many different ways starting with a ruderalis strain. Main concern however is keeping it alive. The conditions it grew in I can only sum up as very complicated.

Anyways, are there any strains that produce intense amounts of oils on the surface that you've seen or heard of? If so what are its growing conditions and what crosses has been done with it? Where was it found?

It was some what of a nice day today in Sacramento. I spotted and photograph a U.F.O. while I was documenting changes in my garden. could be anything but a heli or a plane that's for sure; it squiqqled through the air so impossibly swift. Can you spot it on the pic?

Also;"T.I.M." adapting to Cali qenvironment quite well!
