continuing that thought, I was thinking about the nutes at the end. Is it really necessary to keep feeding it till the very end? What more are you getting when the girl is ready to finish?

Everyone has their own method to the madness. I just feel like they still need to eat. If it's an 8 week flowering strain, at the beginning of week 6 I cut what I'm feeding in half. Week 7 I cut that in half. Week 8 just water. No flushing. Just water. By then they're usually not drinking much anyway.

Old school hippie myth! You just got that from an old school hippie too.

It is impossible to remove anything from a plant by flush, leach or any type of over watering.
From the soil, yes.

When you starve a plant, your attempting to lower the nutrient levels in the BUDS, right?
FAIL!
As the plant begins to "starve". It will take nutrients from other locations IN that plant and MOVE them right to the buds (where your trying to lower that from). In a last ditch effort to reproduce.
This in turn actually begins to stress the plant and therefor make any kind of "herming" easier to happen!
No not necessarily. I'm getting rid of any excess nutes and salts in the substrate

That's called leaching and its really only effective in soil. Not something the living soil and no till guys want to do I believe.

I often water my plants the last couple days but my thoughts behind the timeline to "flush" is that it cannot reliably be done from seed anyway. It would have to be done on a 2nd generation of clone so u know the finishing date otherwise ur apt to start starving your plant in mid flower. We see this allot on here (me included -even when feeding...) the plant like's lots of nutrients when its pumping.

I grow in soil, so I feel like the watering is going to naturally reduce the amt of nute uptake as they pull any residual out and send it to the buds. I think the changes at the end cause them to go into emergency mode, sending everything left to the buds.

Si I take it nobody has any experience with the sweet zombie strain .," (Sweet Zombie is a 95% indica strain with a heavy delivery both in terms of yield and effect. Produced by crossing Zombie Virus with the famous Black Domina)" off the Web! Supposed to be a very quick flowering strain! Up to 56 days I had a look through my scope this morning and happy days she is getting there now Pannic over.... One thing I can say about this strain is the smell is overkill omg its stinks and is sticky as!

Where did that flushing shit start, do you remember?

I think somebody wrote a book and everybody jumped on it for a while like it was etched in stone.

I remember a YT video years ago showing some lady cutting her plants and sticking it in a vase to suck up water and called that flushing too.

I'd call it hydrating for no good reason but what do I know?
Boy, I can recall talk about that back in the late 70's even. Think it was around the time Skunk began to take off in the Triangle (80's).....In the 80's that it really took hold.

Not sure but it might have been as early as George's first book in (oh crap, ummm) 82 or 83 that he mentioned it..... If you actually have a copy of that original book. It could be worth a few buck's as he had to re-title it and re-issue it after the Fed's shut his shop down...

Sorry but, no.

Has to be the most intense stinking strain I've ever run!
You must shower after being in the grow with these around. The smell gets in everything.
I still got beans from that strain. Might have to run that this winter...

Ah yes the skunk in the closet. I had some bag seeds that grew into bushes that smelled like skunks dipped in cat pee. It was some of the best ever lol. Didn't grow it again because it was seriously offensive... nothing stealthy about it

Yep, even though Rec & Med is legal here I try to be stealthy just to stay under the radar of the ner-do-wells but a very nice member gifted me with several strains (GG#4 being one) and the smell was as you describe.

Pretty sure the whole neighborhood is in the know.

Haha a lid... or how bout a 2 finger bag. Life was so simple back then... I was snitching out of my mom's bag and rollin joints with tampon wrappers. Smoking in my best friend's treehouse and playing a Ramones cassette on repeat.
