New to site

I couldnt find a specific area to introduce myself, so i figured the newbie section would be good.

Anyways, im new to growing. Matter of fact, i saw some seeds in my brothers stash and i germinated them, before i knew it i found myself buying some fox farms soil and watching my 3 little northern lights grow. haha. its so exciting and addicting!!! Or maybe is just me...


My setup is very simple and needs lots of updating.

I only have 2---23 watt daylight cfl's and about 4 inches below i have 3 cups in my hallway closet. I plan on building a 2x4x3 veg chamber and a 4x4x5 flowering chamber in a bedroom closet, dont want to get any bigger than that.... at least not yet. I will post pictures soon.

Here are the pics as promised. I know it looks like i only have two cups, but there are three. Only one shows the stem coming out clearly, all three have the stem growing, but they would not be visible with a picture so i didnt bother.


I would also like to add that i have been reading about topping and im going to try it at least on one of these plants. Im sure by tomm they will be like an 1" long. so exciting.

this is grow day 3 in soil, germinated for 2 days.

WELCOME from another noob! I'm within a week or two of harvest on my first grow (two AK48 girls under just CFLs). I'm told I could get as much as 2oz per plant, so I'm quite happy about my first attempt. If you spend some time reading, you'll learn tons of good info here...just beware that not everyone who gives pointers is created equal, so don't take everything you read as gospel. hello! what lumes are the CFL's you are using? are they day light? soft white?

I believe they are 1750 lums, but I know they are daylights. I know I need more and I also need to make a box for them cause its in a closet and I just rigged up a shelf underneath it with some supllies I had in the garage.

How many lights do you think I should have/add?

day 17,not as big as i wished, started FF grow big day 15. hope thats not too soon.

im thinking of transplanting into 1 gal pots soon, what do you guys think? or should i wait till i find out the sex?

i now have 3 cfls, little fan, in a tote. making a 3' wide x 2' deep x 5' high wood grow box in garage for flowering stage in my garage with a 250W hps..

any tips?
