new to this

planted my seeds last nite in little cups. waitin 4 the 1st sign of life. how long does this usually take?

a couple of days have fun, was it bag seed or bought seeds?

2 to 3 days just make sure to keep the top of that medium moist. you gonna plant into soil, soiless , or hydro?

welcome to riu. Can take up to 2weeks the way you have done it, but more than likely 4-7 days. Most people germinate seeds in paper towels then add them to the growing medium after.

Did you use the paper towel method first or just put seeds in the dirt and add water?

keep those babies warm though

yea i germinated them in a paper towel 4 bout an hr them put them in soil now i got them put up in a dark spot but should i worry bout waterin g and giving it light now or is that a later stage?

i got them from a bag. i used the dark seeds only though, no white ones....

yea every one laughs when i say this but "the ones that look like watermelons do the best"

u put the seeds in a wet towl , place it in a dark cold place . and check once a day to check it they have germinated (little white root coming out of it)
if they have , u take ur pot , and then place the seed inside the soil about 1 to 0.5 an inch deep .
seeds dont need light to sprout , but keeping the light up does has its adventages
a) will keep the seeds warm (if theres a temp issue)
b) light will be on and ready when the seed has sprouted
