Hey, hopfully getting set up to grow in a couple of weeks, but the sooner the better!

i plan on growing in soil in a cabinet (Size H87, W70, D35cm) and just have a couple of questions... there not TOO dumb i dont think, i have had a good search

firstly i was looking at this light http://www.hydroponic-supplies.co.uk/purple-125w-cfl-low-energy-lamp-195-p.asp

will that be enough for my little cabinet and can i use that from start to finish?

also i was looking at the different kinds of light suggested and when i was looking at MH ones they seem to require a ballast which seems expensive, am i right there?

Not really sure how many lumens that light is putting out, but it says right in the description that it does not have the power of an HID. I would say invest in a HID system. I got a a 150 watt HPS; ballast, bulb, and reflector all for 60 bucks at the local hydro store. That thing will crank out just over 10000 lumens in your cab and give you the light you will need. :weed:

Thanks, I will have to keep looking around, I havnt found a reasonable priced one in the uk yet. Going to the local bong/legal high/tattoo/sex shop this weekend to see if they still sell growing gear so I might get lucky.

if ya want to ya can look on ebay i had a look for the first time yesterday and i think ill be getting mine from there
i been looking at a 125 or 250 CFL grow i saw 1 that came with reflector lead and bulbs for 60 quid

What kind of budget do you have? You can order a complete 400w HPS light system, from www.htgsupply.com for $140 USD, plus shipping. I don't know what that would be, in your currency.

Thanks, il check it our for sure, right now I've got a bid on a 400 system for a really nice price! But I think it'll sky rocket before the end but il just keep trying. Can't wait to get growing, just rolled up the last of what I have in the house and only got 1 j left :(

Quick update, won a 400w HPS system for £57 off ebay, got a bit now on a 6 pot DWC system, ends sunday, so hopefully i'll be ordering seeds next week! will start a journal once we start our first grow. :blsmoke:
