i need to know if i can just buy like 1 uv light and 1 some other type of light from like a pet shop or home depot or something will that be enough for a plant to grow? i already have a few seedlings started and i need to get my lighting in order. i also dont really have alot of money to spend on this. thats why im wondering if the plants will thrive under a 20-30 dollar light set up vs. a 500 dollar light set up. im growing for personal use in a 5 gal. bucket that drains, and moisture control soil w/ verm,and perlite mixed with about of 3 inches of rocks at the bottom. any advice would help thanks.

looks like your only option is outdoor or cfl's. Read up on some cfl threads. Sounds like you did a good job on the soil btw!

For 30 bucks you could get about 200 watts of CFL. You'd need another 10-20 for sockets and Y adapters and stuff, but 50 bucks could get 200w of CFL and grow a nice plant or 2.
