i have no experience growing with LED. so i couldnt tell you if to use them or not. But what i can tell you is from what i have heard it is much better to use CFL lights. i use 100watt CFL for vegging, and 600watt HPS for flowering, which i think and have heard is probably the best way. sorry i couldnt anser your question fully but thats my opinion :) happy growing... Thanks guys for your help, For the led panel to fit it will have to sit on the side of the case as the top is abit too small, does the lights have to be on top or will it be fine with them on the side?

erm .. no and no ..

I dont have huge experience with LEDs .. but one thing I keep reading/see .. is that you need to invest the money on a prober one .. and they cost way more then 42$ .. the cheap once is more like toys .. specially the cheap no name from China .. keep away from them ..

another thing I keep reading about em (did some research since I did consider the switch from my 600W HPS)
is that the 1W LEDs is the most effective .. seens a lot useing 3W aswell .. but I wonder how high Watt your LED panels are ?

they don't even provide you with that info.. so I would stay away ..

do some more research .. there is a LED thread some wher in here for Ppl. who use em .. ask in ther .. go for one others had good experience with (them I see cost like +200$ and up) one with a good brand name .. and one that fit your PC case ..

sorry .. but suck more to wast 42$ and a lot of time then to do more research and get the right one to start with (I know been there with ventilations)

Slip has a good point. the LED's are still expensive for the good ones.
Kinda like tennies. The cheap ones will cover your feet, but the more expensive ones will last you a lot longer, and be more comfortable.
For a first grow, if I was you, I would just stick with some decent CFL's. There are a couple links for places if you look in the indoor section, that you can order higher wattage bulbs than you would find at the hardware store.

definitely not! i bought the exact same model (for half the price actually) and it will not do a thing, if you are using it for extra lighting and you have it just lying around then sure go ahead but for the same price you can pick up a couple pc fans and a some decent CFL's. While it doesn't tell you how many watts it is the actual amount of watts of the whole panel adds up to 14w, you can pick up a 55 watt cfl for 1/5 of the price.
