Newbie Basement project

So I am brand new to growing and want to move two plants from my back deck to the basement. This all started with two seeds I found in a OZ and I was like "Fuckit let me put these in some dirt and see what happens". Lord and behold! They grew like the proverbial weed. I want to move them to my basement since winter is coming and I started this a little late in the season since I never thought it would actually work. Im looking for some tips or suggestions. My basic plan was to just hang a 1000w Phantom grow lamp from the celing and monitor through the winter following a basic guide. Now I dont plan on growing more than a few plants at a time and I would like to keep from doing any crazy construction in my basement. Its an unfinished 1500 square foot walkout basement. Space isnt an issue but like I said im brand new to this kind of thing and would love a little help with the basics. Do I need a tent? Can I just open air grow under the light? stupid questions like these are what I could use answers for.

Thanks in advance.. DM

If you don't mind the basement smelling like weed, you are good in the open and you don't need a tent. If the stink is an issue, a tent with a carbon filter to scrub the smell is the way to go.

A 1000W HPS would be able to flower a 5' x 5' area.

When you go from natures ultimate grow light to a man made grow light, there is usually an adjustment period as the plants get used to their new surroundings. You detect that slow or stalled growth more so in the VEG state.

But … if they are outdoors now, would they not already be pretty deep into flowering?

Smell and air transfer will be an issue
Once your furnace fires up for winter you'll be living in the funk

I started pretty late in the season. I never expected the seeds to actually sprout and grow. they are only about 3 feet tall. Like I said im really new to this.

You are likely well into flowering if they are outside so if you bring them in put them under 12/12 (light/dark) id go for a tent personally can find some good all in one deals on a tent light fan filter combos
