Hi. Im a newbie here. Been reading for awhile and finally gave growing a try.
Keep in mind money is a huge problem for me.

I started a few seedlings under 2 cfls. first 1 is 45 watts (200 output) and is cool white 3000 lumans, and 4100k.

2nd light is 40 watts (150 output) soft white and 2700k.

What i really wanna know is if this is Even enough light for one plant?

Ill try and post a pic but im doing all this from my phone so sry if it looks like a txt msg.

Appreciate all feedback\help

yeah thatd fine for a seedling. but youll need more as it grows. 6500k better for veg, as its said, if you can

Cant post pics from phone but i will upload some when im back. I also just bought a 400 watt universal ballast with som mh and hps bulbs but want start using those until i move into my new place. I guess this is just a newbie experiment.

I was hoping the 2 cfls would give me enough light to veg 1 mother plant. What u think?

buy 6500k bulbs so u got atleast two and maybe keep the 2700k on aswel but that more for flowering! do a search on kelvin and lumans and which bulbs for what! I actully found a good bit of info on bulbs just searching google, check out my album second grow, I'm just using 4x25w cfls and my baby flew up! I just waiting on a 250w red cfl for the flowering

no you cant add the kelvins together. its the different light spectrum the light lets off. 6500k better for veg and 2700 for flower but the watts are fine. and if theyre placed right and the plant lsted then it should be good, hopefully all the way through for a good yield. if not, then a small yield

I guess i tie it down with thread to stay like that? Wont the stem break? Right now its about 2 weeks old and still has a skinny wet stem.

Also the #s on the potters its that in weeks to do that step?

Also 1 more thing. I get about 2 and a half hrs of good sun in the evenibg. Is it good to bring the seedling or veg plant out to catch some rays??

yeah, you can either keep it in the lights or set it out in front of the window for some sun.. it couldn't hurt at least.

and yeah I read this thread a while back... pretty sure the first number is the week the plant is in and the second is the diameter of the pot. but you can do it now or when it thinkens up a little but not too much cause you want it fairly bendable... it shouldnt break if youre somewhat careful with it, just dont bend it like 180 degrees and snap it. haha

I am growing the same type of ladies you are right now if you have anymore questions or want to see the final product of my first grow just stop on by you might learn a couple things for yourself. Growing isnt as hard as everyone makes it out to be so you should be alright. I would suggest getting some lights for Veg though 6500k. The 2700k is more for flowering. I have 1 of each right now and they're both 85 watts. Liking the grow though + rep + sub
