Newbie help needed for grow room project

How much of the space will you use for growing? Not the whole 10x10 Metre area, right? Because that size of space and "not too expensive" don't go together in the same sentence.

I'm guessing I'll want part for growing mothers & clones etc and another part for flowering.....

No worries, but you will have to make some decisions on your own. There's some things we can't sort for you.

Room size is one of those things. We can't recommend equipment if we're unsure of the size of the spaces.

If you're unsure of this, think about how many plants at a time you want to grow, or at least how much product you think you want to produce. We can try to help you sort out what room size will be ideal for you.

Also, if you have a budget, that'll significantly help us help you as well.

7. Automated Watering and growing in soil doesn't work (not in the way i think you are thinking about). If you want automated then hydro would suit. I'd recommend working out what you want to grow (volume x frequency) that will help you 'size' pretty much most of what you want. If this is a grow for your own smoke then banging up 3 x 1000W HPS is probably overkill. I sized my grow based on how much weed i wanted to produce. It's just for me so it's pretty straightforwards as you know how much you smoke right? However, you're talking mothers and clones so you're looking to do a perpetual grow at a reasonable scale (i'm hypothesising here) so consider buying a split tent. That way you've still got the rest of your basement to use for other purposes and you can vent a carbon filter out of the tent to your external outlet (keep the filter inside the tent and draw through it rather have it outside and push through it.

Here is one of my setups. I stood it up a couple of months or so ago for some experiment runs.

Tent on the left is a 4x4' tent with a 600W HPS, and I *think* a 640CFM 6" inline fan. This tent is for flower. The other tent beside it is a 2x4x5' tent with a 400W MH lamp. This is the veg tent. I drive the air from the small tent into the large tent through the cool tube, and the large flower tent exhaust the air to outside for both tents. I do not cool the hood in the flower tent. The flower tent requires the extra heat due to the cold nature of my basement. All of my flower tents are configured in this manner. I have a separate cloning tent (2x3x3'), but you can clone and veg in the same small tent you veg in.



If I was to guesstimate, I'd say ~$250-$300 for the two tents, ~$250 for both lamps (includes lamps, ballasts and hoods), ~$150 for the exhaust fan and filter, ~$25 for vent ducting. Prices all CDN.
