Thanks for all the info, especially the defoliation stuff, I'm good with all the DIY stuff to happy to have a go at making it all. The DWC system looks good and easy to make.
Just come back from the local hydro shop which was very informative. Might stick with regular lights rather than led to start with, defo gonna build my own hydro kit though.

I've gone with the Plant Photonics 140w panel after chatting to a couple of guys on here about it, best European made panel and they're both getting superb results. It should arrive early next week. Then once I've done one grow I should have enough ££ to buy a second one.
I'm going to tank my attic room out with a pond liner so no chance of any leakage through the house.
Now just got to decide what hydro system to go for, regular or RDWC, I'm definitely going to build rather than buy a kit - gonna watch a few more Youtube vids before deciding.
