Newbie Help

I'm just in the design phase for my first grow. I've got a budget of around $1500. I've got two extra bedrooms and a basement to grow in if that helps. Trying to figure out the best method to start with. I've got a few friends that grow and they each suggest something different one says start with soil the other says start with hempy buckets. I'm leaning toward trying autos first so I have less time to screw things up. So far this is what I have on my buy list.

1000 watt HPS
4' 8 bulb t5 with grow lights
2 60x60x80 tents

Any advice for a first timer? I appreciate any help you veterans(which is anyone besides myself lol) have to offer.

too much heat from the 1000 watters. go with two 600 dimmables. you can veg entirely in the t5 if you want. you'll need airflow. connect the tents via some ducting and install a 6" fan on one. that should get you started. grow in soil. its better imo.

Awesome thanks for the info. I was thinking of going with foxfarm soil a mix of ocean forrest and light warrior with 30% perilite and fox farm nutes. Are they pretty newb friendly?

i have never used any of those. i mix my own. be careful though. the ff is hot. the others may be. if you can pour the soils into a lg trash can and add a little water then let it cook for two weeks it would help
