Hey folks,
new to the community, been growing my first crop for the past month and a bit and everything has been going well. :) my plants have been in the flower stage for 2 and a half weeks and is showing signs of pre flower. I have done some research on figuring out what sex it is but need more clarification. It looks like its a male but i could be wrong,,, i hope im wrong :s

i just found out that the two fans i had running had green led's that didn't make the grow room completely dark. could this caused it?

Green LED should be ok, they are used to view plants at night without disturbing the dark cycle but I am not sure about extended periods. If it did you would more likley have hermies than just pure males. Very unlikely that the LED caused them to be male.

I put electrical tape over all my fan LEDs just to be safe.

Minor light leaks like that are excuses for bad genetics, I've had cameras with IR (red) lights shining directly at my plants at the back of the room since I built my room 4+ years ago, I've never had a hermie.

Green lights shouldn't be a problem if the wattage is low. I'm a new grower myself, but I have firsthand seen quite a few successful grows in the past. Like kingtitan mentioned, low wattage leds will not be a problem. And if your plant was exposed to that light from the seedling phase, it should not hermie.

This is off another tangent, but I have noticed that if any of the newly forming female buds get hurt, the autoflower might go into crazy pollen sac production. This just happened to me!

update; had a look at the plants today and a few pistils have started to show themselves. In the second pic, there is a pistil coming out what looks like a crab claw o_O. Third pic definitely looks female. Fourth pic shows white hairs coming from the new branch. could be a hermie:confused:. can i pluck the male flowers off and leave the female flowers to grow?

I'd suggest you wait a week or so to see the actual formation to you know for sure if its a hermie or not. Keep in mind that autoflowers have genetics of ruderalis in their make up..it is this genetic markup that makes them autoflower. If you start cutting off the pollen sacs your plant woudn't just hermie but it could go all out male.
