Hello all.. As you can see I'm a newbie in this forum (as in mj growing)
I'm planning to grow 2 plants: Blue Mystic and Blueberry
Growbox dimensions: 45x60x140 cm,made from wood
I bought 5 cfl 4U 35w 2700k lamps

The heat in the room where I'm gonna put the growbox is only 50-57F, so will these 5 lamps be able to warm the growbox up to ~80-86F ?

do a test run.....by the way 2700k is the ideal light for flowering and not very good at anything else. 6500k for veg.

Welcome to RIU :hump:

2700 is for flowering like Woo just said. You'll need 6500 CFL's for veg. Ideally, 72-75 is where you want your temps. CFL's will heat up a bit but nothing like MH or HPS. I'm not sure about Blue Mystic but the regular Blueberry strain is not the easiest to grow out.

those won't put out much heat. I have about the same number on my grow (also blue mystic) and they don't really add to the heat. I use a 30 gallon rubbermaid tote for seedlings and clones and that held some heat. So I would make sure your box is sealed up as much as possible including a top and just have big enough holes in it for fresh airflow.

Woomeister is definately right, 6500k are gonna veg your plants way better

they will heat it up a little bit... what are your temps during the day compared to night you will want your light off when the room can maintain the heat the best...So if your AT during the day is say 70 and and night is 50...Run your lights at night so it maintains the heat and you dont have to go out and buy a heater...

yeaaa... everyone else pretty much said it.. you need the Daylight Spectrum lights for veg.. and the 2700K for flowering.. but i think that those lights would be able to heat it up.. i would do like Woo said and do a test run.. i have a small grow box (from cardboard) and only have 2 23 watt CFL's (i think theyre 23 watt.. theyre 100 watts of incandescent lights).. and just those two seem to keep my box pretty warm.. but my box might be a little smaller than yours.. but i think as long as you keep it as air tight as you can. you should be fine.. and if its not warm enough... but a daylight incandescent bulb the wattage is going to vary depending on the temp with the CFL's going) but try a 40 watt daylight incandescent bulb.. and put it AS FAR AWAY FROM YOUR PLANTS AS YOU CAN because it could burn them if its too close.. but that 1 single bulb will heat your box up pretty nice... as long as you keep it far enough away from your plants.. youll be good. i did this with my closet grow because it was too cold in there with just the CFL's.. but a closet is alot bigger than a grow box.. obviously. lol.

but yeaaa i would do a test run with just the CFL's... see how that goes.. and then if you need to. put an incandescent bulb in there.. you may even want to try bulb lower than 40 watts.. w.e. that is.?? like 20 or 25?? let us know how it goes.

yeah.. I know 2700k is for flowering.. but the funny thing is that I can't find 6500k (or any other than) spectrum anywhere in my city.. So I gotta deal with it...
and yeah, I'll do a test run in a few days.. and if the heat will be low I'll buy another lamp for warmth.....

Growing under red spec lights can be beneficial but i've forgot how. I think it could make them branch more Not sure what the result will be with just red, it'll definately work but your loosing out on slight yield but not having a bulb to induce more vegging of the plant.

yeaaa you CAN use 2700K and that will work.. its funny.. around where i live.. its the complete opposite.. all i can find are Daylight Spectrum.. lol. but since your using them.. keep your plants CLOSE to the light.. because using bulbs high in the red spectrum usually make your plants stretch.. soo keep that in mind.. if your going to LST your plant.. than using the 2700K might actually help by making them stretch... which would make it easier to tie down.... but if you do come across anything thats higher than 4000K.. you should get it.. cuz even that is closer to the blue spectrum.. obviously.. lol. just make sure to stay away from any light between 3000K-4000K.. they hardly benefit your plants at all.. goooood luck!!
