Newbie Hydro grow

Nice Dreams

Hello everyone,

I am starting my first grow ever and decided to do it hydroponically.
I purchased a stealth cabinet(36"H-18"D-26"W) with 3 full-spectrum 55watt dual tube CFL's. I have 2 questions to ask if anyone can answer them that would be great!
First question is how long after germination(in rockwool)in a seedling greenhouse should I wait before moving them. Second question is what would be the best fertilizer/nutrients to use in a hydro grow?

I wouldn't recommend going hydroponically for your first grow. It may be too much to try to take-in. I would suggest going with a container grow, so that you can learn the ropes to growing (especially what signs to look for in your plants.)

If you still want to go hydroponically, the answers to both your questions can easily be answered by using the SEARCH function. Always SEARCH before posting a new thread. Now after you did your SEARCH homework, if you are still unclear on something, we'll be more than happy to help you!! :blsmoke:

Yeah, I wouldn't have gone with a hydro grow for the first one, but eh, some people do pick it up a lot more easily than I ever could.

Some answers to your questions:

First question is how long after germination(in rockwool)in a seedling greenhouse should I wait before moving them.

You should wait until there are small little white roots at the bottom of the seeds. That's the sign they're ready to be moved and they're ready to grow strong. Without roots, they're not going to be able to get started.

Second question is what would be the best fertilizer/nutrients to use in a hydro grow?

Personally, I've found that Advanced Nutrients are the best for hydro, but that's just my opinion. I'm sure others will say otherwise. They have a lot of different nutes to tinker with, but the easiest one (again, for me anyway) is Grow-Micro-Bloom. It's easy to use, easy to adjust, and simple in a hydro setup.

Just use the calculator on the AN site to see what you need to add to your setup:

It's new, so I haven't used it yet, but it seems that it's changed a bit. It's probably better than it was before. Looks like they did a lot of clean up work on the site...
