Newbie in need of help

Hi, i was interested in growing and dont even know where to start all i know is i got these 2 lights they are some type of 70 watt sodium lights wondering would they work and where to start any help?

How many plants are you wanting to grow? I would recommend using no less than 200. But if your doing a micro grow it should work fine.

what do u mean micro grow? im probably trying to grow how ever many i can with these lights

I would say a micro grow would indicate one medium sized plant. Medium sized for indoor that is.

okay well is there any help on growing these plants how many? or how do i start?

Read the sticky things to know about lighting it will give you an idea of how many will be ideal for your lights. There is tons of tips on growing just google growing cannabis have you got pots read up on ventilation decided on soil or hydro..if soil what kind nuts any of this?

I think if you want to grow more than an oz at a time you will need 600 watt min and 9 -16 square feet of growing space.
You would prob need to make some kind of homemade refector as the lights you have will focus the light and heat to much, need to sread it out a bit

Those lights will grow two small plants, they will work. The thing you might want to do is remove the ballast from those light and rewire it so there's some distance between the two, because in actual grow lights, the ballast and the hood are two seperate components, but what you have is an outdoor street light and the ballast is built into the top of the hood, which will creat a lot of heat, even two small ones like that, if you grow in a closet or cabinet.

They will work just fine if you modify them a bit.
