whats up guys im growing my first plant its 2 weeks old it looks healthy but the next set of leaves that grow opposite from the first set (not talking about the 2 baby leaves that first grow) are curling inward like if they dont want to open, and one of them has a couple very tiny brown spots.. The plant continous to grow though. I havent been feeding it any nutrients, i bought miraclegro soil from walmart (tight on money), im using distilled water I have two 6500k lights in a little growbox i made.. its kind of a tight apt. im living in so theres not to much space left, eventually i need to get a bigger box.. any tips, or advice anything to get this baby growing.. any kind of good nutrients i kind get at wallmart? I saw this miraclgro nute it was 12-2-8 ..is that ok?
P.S i think the seed is from a midz sack i had and the plant stretched i know!! I have it about 3-4 four inches away from the plant on both corners of the box .. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Isnt there a home depot where you live? They have a much better selection of nutrients and dirt.. I use miracle grow moisture control and its wayyy better than regular MG dirt.. It was like $3.88 plus tax for a 8 quart bag. The dirt looks pretty dry in the pics but its hard to tell.. How often are you watering it? If any of my plants stop growing or slow down alot, I transplant and hit with a light dose of nutes.. You can also foliar feed that plant a very light does of nutes. like 1/6th recommended strength.. better to give them a little at first so you dont give them nutrient burn and really stunt the growth. Goodluck :bigjoint:

indeed, looks like heat stress, but check the long stem as well, so the plant is stretching for light. Get the lights closer and put a fan in there. Regarding the MG...I had my first plant in MG soil. But it's a nasty soil, it's too powerful at least for the new seedling, to much nutz in it and it will create burns eventually. Give more details on your soil...

idk what type of material your aluminum foil is taped to, but if its something like cardboard, cut some holes in it, or only have 3 walls reflecting and let one open for airflow. The way its currently set up reminds me of those aluminum ovens you make in kindergarten to make smores. All that heat is just trapped with no where to go.

oh, looked closer, its a box lol, cut holes in the box, one on each side, put a fan blowing in (on the outside) and a fan blowing out (on the inside). Just the fan blowing in would probably be enough though as hot air rises and as long as you have a fan blowing fresh air in the hot air will be pushed out and escape.

Are there drainage holes in that container and are they open? In lieu of no pH meter it's safe to say 5 or 6 drops of lemon juice or white vinegar in tap water make your water/feeds more useable by the plant - soil grows like 6.0 pH while tap water (and bottled water) run usually 7.0 - 7.2.

Yea its a cardboard box lol.. I cut out three holes and took one side of the aluminum foil off.. instead of using the two lights now, I am just using one right on top of the plant about 3 inches away.. I need to go buy a mini fan too (probably get it tomorrow). The soil is just regular miraclegro potting mix. I'm watering about every 3 days or when the top soil is crusty. I'm not sure what lieu is but yes the pot has drain holes on the bottom. I was going to water tonight, should I water with a little white vinegar and water?

Also, foil can cause your plants to burn from the reflected light, nothing would be better situation than risking burning your plants. Just switch to some good organic soil and ditch the foil and eventually your plant will rejuvenate. It is going to grow slowly for while heads up.

You don't need any nutes right now The soil is already too much for the plants. The time release nutrients in the soil will constantly burn that baby unitil she is moved to something better. even soil from your yard is better than that mg soil.

like above posters said don't nute yet. don't nute until the plant tells you to (i.e. lighter green leaves). you shouldn't need to nute until 6 or 7 nodes of growth. Don't pH at 6.0, that will lock out nutes. 6.6-6.8 is a good ph range, don't go below 6.3 or you will lock out nutes in soil.
