Gorilla grow tent 4x4x8
1000w Solis tel ballast
1000w Solis tek bulbs HPs/mh 6k
Raptor 8 dual light hood (only using 1)
Phresh carbon filter 8x24
Can fan 8 inline fan for exhaust
Ffof/light warrior 50/50 soil
With ff nutes
Jack herer fem seeds 4 plants in soil in 5 gal buckets
Scrog grow method

Eventually I plan on going more automated with an enviromential controll device. But, for this grow I'm just wanting to get my feet wet, be it I still want great quality.

I am confused as to how to vent my tent. I am thinking of mounting the fan and carbon filter inside the tent, then ducting it out with the fan sucking air through the filter. I am unsure of what to do with that duct from there. I don't have the ability to take the hot air up to an attic space. I must either let it either exhaust into the room the tents in, vent it outside next to the rooms window unit, or vent it to the crawl space below, or perhaps to a spare bedroom. I lived a couple hundred feet away from nieghbors but I do use a lawn service in the summer, though I could always take that task on. Stealth is important.

Also, do I need a fan for intake into the tent, or will the passive vents work with small fans attached inside circulating the air in the tent.

Also any advice you can offer.

Can I address your 'lawn service' quandary by saying if you're prepared to grow your own, mow your own. :)

You have a few options. Run the vent to the ceiling as long as your attic is properly ventilated. You don't want heat build up.

My suggestion would be to vent back into room and use a ac unit to control the temp of the air going back into the tent. This is an easy approach with a lot less work. You can easily grow in this type of situation and decide to ventilate else where at a later time.

You will need to have fresh air coming into the room tho. Whether you leave the door open or pull from another room. You want whatever air you bring in to be as clean as possible.

Question regarding fans and carbon filters;

I might be wrong and correct me if so, duct in to tent, going to lights, then to a fan and out? Then a separate system that has a carbon filter, fan, then a duct out? Is there any way to scrub the air and cool the lights without requiring the systems be independent from each other.

My idea is having my hood open on one side, the lighted side, and then have a duct to the filter and fan, and then a duct expelling that air out of the tent, probably into the room that the tents in. Which is cooled by a window unit. Will this work?

You only need one fan (exhaust) and one carbon filter. Google grow tent ventilation and possibly just look at images to get an example. If it fits inside your tent you can put it inside or you could put it outside if it doesn't.

Sorry if I didn't answer all your questions. Currently working but this helps pass some time haha

After re-reading I think I understand what you mean and yes it will work. Leave one side of the light open without ducting. Run ducting to your filter and have an exhaust fan pulling the air out into the room
