Hey whats up everyone, this is my first legit grow. I orderd 5 blue mystic auto flower and a friend gave me 2 bagseeds(We think its NL), my plants are sittin around 2.5weeks old. THe pics at the top was there first week the pics at the bottom were taken recent. Anyways, I'm working with a 2' 3' 3' grow box I built the walls are coverd in tinfoil, 6-26w 27k Cfls I bought at walmart, MG organic(could be my first mistake lol), currently no nutes and I've been leaving the lights on a 24/0 sched til about the third week when ill swith it to a 18/6. Also I usually water them once a day because it gets kinda hot. I need advice!! I think somethings wrong but not sure maybe their growth has stunted. IDk please help! I mean shouldnt they be a little bit bigger for 2.5 weeks? what can I do to boost their growth?

1 and 3 pic are the BM middle looks like the NL

First of all you got the wrong temperature bulbs. For vegging, you need bulbs with a Kelvin temp of 5500* - 6500*K. The warm 2700*K bulbs are better only for flowering.

Your second mistake is the distance those bulbs are away from the plants. The bulbs should be AT MOST 1 inch away from the plants.

Thirdly, if it's a legit grow, why don't you take them outside to get some real sun ?

I did and one wilted over when i brought it in the leaves stood up and started to shrivel. Haha and i thought it was legit for my first setup. Also i had the lights within 3in and the end of the leaves started tp curl so i figured it was too hot.

U Cant throw them in the sun right away, SUN IS TOO POWERFUL. U need to let them sit in dark for 5-6 days.....I wouldnt PUt the cfls 1in away, That dudes crazy...those things get hot....keep the distance becasue with small plants like that u cant throw a shit load of air on them. So i definitely wouldnt put cfl's 1 in away...it looks good to me.. Those dont look like 27k, Those look like 6500k..those are bright white. so i cant see how they are not 6500k.

i would quit farting around and get a 250w hps . cfl's are a waste of time imho

use something better for reflective material, Everyone hates on mylar, but in my opinion its the best for reflection. As long asu dont get spray or anything on it. its hard to clean.

From what your saying in your post, U know your not gonna crop any weed right?....u might get a gram...lol...

ur bulbs seem that they are 6500 k (white)
u have the right percentage of watt per 1 plant (2 x 26 for 1 plant)
if u are using a vantilator, put the light 1 or 2 inch away from the plants
use a mylar (i am using it) but white oily painted walls are better i guess. dont know exactly
dont use nutiritions in ur first grow (it may break your courage)
dig your finger into the soil 2' and see if the soil is not wet. make sure it is dry before watering
in the begining use small pots
plants always need fresh air so use fan etc..
everyone says PH is important. but hardly to find low ph water where i live...

white isnt as reflective. But its less hasle and easier to clean(doesnt get as dirty)...But mylar is the best for relfection if u keep it clean.

ph isnt a issue with soil . hydro mainly

Wow, stop making a fool of yourself, really ! I am crazy for putting CFL's one inch away from plants ?? I don't know what you use for CFL's, but they don't get that hot to burn plants even 1/2 inch away... Do your research first dude, then tell me I'm crazy. And about the sun, I guess you know better than mother nature how to grow plants ? Let them sit in the dark for 5-6 days ? pH doesn't matter in soil only in hydro?????? You must be high dude... and probably never had any good crops..... probably never even grew yourself...

So what does that mean when I leave them outside for a few hrs and the leaves are pointig straight up or they wilt over and shrivel up? Preciate all the advice! I was messing around and put foil around thw plant maybe it'll help them grow a lil better. Also last night I topped one of the larger BM for the first time ever I'll post pics tonight check it out and see if I'm on the right track so far.

When leaves rise and point up, usually means not enough water. When they droop, usually means overwatering. Notice this is USUALLY but there are lots of different factors. Post some pics up. Alot easier to diagnose something this way.

Well right now my computer is jacked so icant post pics for a few day so I'm just gonna type it all lol. Over the weekend I bought a 70 watt hps standard floodlight, also bought a 150watt hps warm color appearance bulb. I wasnt for sure if this light system would work the same as a 150watt hps system, and if it is the same watt/lumens. I installed the floodlight 12-15inches away and have 4 of the cfls 3inches away from the tops of the plants. The light seems pretty bright/powerful by itself and its an orangish color? is this right spectrum??It gets pretty hot around 89-95 depending if I have the fan on full power or low. Also I put the girls in sunlight for 3-5hrs they seemed like they enjoyed the sun;). Anyways I'll try and post new pics by tomorrow! The girls seem to be doing good? Not gettin much bigger, seems to be growing slow hopefully after a week with this light I'll see huge improvements.
