Newbie needing advice

Im new folks. First grow. Just wanting advice and direction.
400 watt hps
3.5' × 3.5' × 96" space. ( open ended diy tent).
8 weeks veg. 16 days flower.
Fox farms trio + cal- mag.
68-78 degrees. Rh 70%

Cut your fertilizer regime by a third or more. (Optimum photosynthesis actually happens when plants are slightly deficient)
Don't drink coffee before taking photos if it gives you parkinsons.

I am currently using ff big bloom + tiger bloom at 1/2 strength. I gave them one last feeding of grow big two days ago. Are you advising i cut back further on nutes than this ?

Im no expert, but those leaves look like you are flirting with toxicity, Ive used those same nutrients and had some serious problems develop, even at half strength......
That Grow Big is some really potent stuff....

Agree 100%. I have discontinued grow big. Continuing others+ cal- mag at 1/2 strentgh every other watering. Leaves curling on one and paling on the other.definitely too much nitrogen here in this pic.

I agree calmag tends to be nitro heavy and usually chemical! So if your in soil that’s not the best! It’s the calmag that’s making the leaves dark as hell, definatly cut back dude.

Not a fan of FF Grow big at all. While I haven't ran a whole grow using it myself I have seen it in action. When trying to sort through a fellow growers issues I picked up a bottle of almost empty FFGB and it had close to an inch of salts solidified in the bottom. This prompted me to start turning over pots to see what kind of buildup he had. What I saw turned me off for life. The bottom of every pot was caked in salts. I am now of the opinion that FFGB is not very friendly to the soil life and should be avoided in any long term potting situation.

I should mention that the grower attempted to stay with it and just had a repeat of same problems next round. I talked him into building a new soil mix and going with straight water after that and he is over the moon with his results. From yield to taste and vigor, it improved his results tremendously.

Thanks for the advice. I wasnt aware that calmag would have those effects. I have been using it every feeding .

I have been using grow big the whole grow and i thought everything was too green. I had cone to the conclusion to cut back on it, but my ignorance being a new grower was affecting my decisions. Although plants appear very healthy, i have slight tip burn and too much geeen. Ive discontinued grow big and intend to cut back on cal mag. Starting week 5 of flowering.

I can never tell if these are meant to be joke threads or not. You never really ask a question outside of can I get advice. You never post a picture in which I can see a ything to really even judge it (not that I'm in any way in a position to insinuate I know enough to judge.) Its just off to me. I wish you luck in your growing adventures and if you're looking for arbitrary advice I say switch to hydro. Lugging sacks of mud around is no fun
