Newbie needs advice on 1st grow in cupboard, smell issues and size

That really all depends. I use MG, going 12/12 from seed I don't feed intill I see bud coming. Then I give bloom nutes. I grow autos and I do the same with those, since the MG I get is very strong on nutes. I just give them the bloom nutes when I see bud.

But anything else, I would feed 2/3 weeks into veg. Then give bloom nutes when I flip

will keep that in mind, at the moment i have two intake comp fans and one out, thinking of putting another out take fan on
