Here you go, I took your picture and circled what I'm talking about, that's a "banana", you'll find more than just that one. Pluck that little guy out of there and split it open over a flat surface and you'll see that it's full of pollen. That is were you got seeds.

I was afraid of that. What do I do now?
I don't guess it makes any diff. now!
It is allready harvested.
I was very strict with the lighting,
what about the feeding/watering?
Could it happen if it was constantly too moist?
I am pretty sure now that I did not let it dry out enough between feedings.
Won't make that mistake next time!!

If it was something I did, I don't want to make
the same mistake next go-around.

Now I need some help/advise> The plant seemed
to me to dry up a lot right towards the end, big
leaves started dropping and it just started looking kinda
sick the last couple weeks!
It had looked good and very healthy up to that point

I guess it came out fair, considering it was a freebe seed
I don't even know what strain it was, I guess some Indica strain

I had a problem with hermies on my last run. I believe my issue was extreme temp swings. Low 40's at night and high 90's during lights on. During the previous grow I ran the lights at night and didn't have this problem.

Some people believe it's purely genetic, others environmental and most believe it's both. Genetics, light leaks and temp seem to be the biggest culprits in my studies. Basically if your growing indoors you have to control the environment completely and safeguard from stress, light leaks and keep the light cycle very consistent.

There is also a huge variance on opinions about growing the seeds. Just go with the ones you bought.

I was just using light leaks as an example, other forms of stress can cause a plant to display its hermie traits. It's really hard after the fact to pinpoint what caused it.

It's not uncommon for them to lose leaves towards the end of flowering but not as dramatic as what was going on with your plant when I first looked at this thread and I wouldn't describe them as "sick looking" when this happens. Maybe it was a heat issue that caused the problems?

I have been reflecting back on the events of my Big 1st Grow!!LOL

I was very dilligent about the light and temps. during flowering.

What I think I screwed up on was the watering/feeding, didn't
let it dry out enough between feedings/watering!

The root ball was really wet even after a couple days after I chopped her
when I took it out of the pot and also it had a light rotten smell to it.

During the whole deal I was feeding her a tea that I was brewing using manure, molasses
leaves and of course water.

Someone had mentioned using chicken compost in the tea and so I bought some
10 year old chicken compost and made a tea with it, it was only a few days after that
it started looking sick?, for lack of a better word. Maybe just coincidence
We allways used chiken shit on our gardens growing up and it was like rocket fuel,
all the plants really thrived.

Maybe I just got some bad shit(chicken), I know I will not use it in my tea on this next go-around!

Anyway, thanks for all the feedback and great ideas from all of you.

I knew absolutly nothing about growing this amazing MJ and now I feel as though
I have graduated from kindergarten to First Grade in my quest for thiss Med!

Hoorah to all,
Old Goat
