Hey guys, new to growing, wanting to grow a small plant outdoor. I got sone big bud seeds, they germinated fine, planted in potting soil and it germinated fine.

After it popped out i put it by a sunny window as i dont have access to lights etc. after 3-4 days it seemed to grow in height but no real leaf growth. So i put it outsidebut its still growing in height and very slowly.. Frist set of leaves are about 2cm long..

Can a seedling be grown outdoors?

I now have alfoil around it to maximise light..

Thanks in advance.

Yes seedlings can grow outside, they have been doing so in nature for thousands of years. You do not need to add light intensifying material to a plant that is getting natural light. As for the growth 3-4 days is a pretty short period of time, have some patience...do some reading and learning. Listen to your plants, to understand what they are saying you just need to gain knowledge...go to the newbie central forum and read, read, read.

Good Luck and Great Grow!

Thanks for the reply..

The plant is now 2weeks old, about 15cm in height, with 2 cordyline, and 2 real leaves that are about 2cm long, the stem is very thin.

Everywhere i read up, they say to use cfls for seedling stage. Then take outside after about 2wks...

Ill have a read through these forums...

You should have let the plant acclimate to the outdoors. As in leave it in out side for a hour the first day, two hours the second day, three hours the third day etc, this hardens the plant. Your plants probably just in shock. If you feel a plant thats grown indoors opposed to a plant that was grown outdoors you can immediately feel the difference. A plant grown outdoors is tougher.

Yes.. I asked the question as everyone talks about indoor lighting and setups..

I been smoking for years but never grown.

I expected it to be shorter and a thicker stem, but it was 15+ cm, and started falling over.. Hence my question..

Hence means - as a result.

Btw - i never said i dont think dope can grow outdoors, Hence the title, newbie - OUTDOOR ISSUES.

Im growing outdoor as this is the best smoke.

But thanks anyways.

Yea I believe he was asking if a seeding could possibly be grown outdoors when it was raised indoors for the first stages of its life. Delicate flowers like orchids have a high fatality rate if transplanted outside when hatched indoors. Cannabis is sort of the same but it's generally more of a hardy plant that easily rebounds so op just give it some time!
