Newbie PH question

Not to sound stupid lol...but I dont quite understand. My SOIL I am using (including nutrients) is at a PH of about 8 (maybe like 7.8). I have PHed my water to 7 in the past, and added it with success, but not anything very impressive.
Wondering- do I equivilate the PH of soil into my figure I come up with OR just water I am adding to soil? Mathematical equation vs. Not lol? Please help! Thanks!

Depending on the soil you shouldn’t have to ph. Whether it was back when I ran roots organic or any other commercial type soil I simply pour my well water with nutes mixed in or simply top dressed. Now I build my own soil and still don’t worry about ph unless it’s somewhere in the neighborhood of 9 an 10 or 5 or lower I’d just get the microbes running and simply water.
